Arrived to be told the key coding machine for the door key cards was broken so I had been transfered to a hotel 5 minutes away.
I went to the other hotel to find they had no idea who I was. They found a room and as I was paying the security deposit I asked if the room matched the room I had paid for, they said no it has one less bed. I was traveling with 2 friends and had booked accordingly based on having 3 beds.
I was then told to call the first hotel to complain. When calling I was told sorry we can give you a refund… I had just driven from Vancouver and by this time it was 10.30pm. I said that’s not what I want to happen and asked to speak to a manager. The manager then told me she can open the room with the master key but we can’t come and go…. It’s 10.30pm …. Why was I not given this option in the first place instead of wasting an hour of my time.
Very poor service. A refund to compensate would be appreciated.
