"Absolutely beautiful hotel we were staying at Shangri-La in Batu Feringgi beach and felt it was pretty lack lustre in comparison to other Shangri LA’s so we came to George Town for the night. This hotel from the staff to the beautiful design is top notch it’s probably one of the most beautiful designed hotels I’ve been to and the staff go out of their way. It’s walking distance from most things. We are sad to leave today wishing we are staying here for the rest of the holiday "

"Large and comfortable room, nice shower, room safe and everything else you would need. I’m not sure how old the hotel is but it is just starting to feel a little dated in the rooms. Staff were super friendly and helpful, also nice to have the pool table and a few other activities in the lobby. We had an issue with the fridge not working in our room which they resolved straight away. Gym was decent size and very quiet when we were here also. It is in a bit of an odd location where you must get a Grab everywhere but they are cheap and available. "

"Under my circumstances the hotel was beautiful. Careful in the sun. I got a little sunburned because of a lack of enough umbrellas. But great place. Prices in bar and restaurants a bit high. Guess they figure if you can pay for the place, you won't mind the prices. Breakfast buffet was awesome. Staff incredibly friendly "

"This was the second time we stayed at the Ascott within a month. We were in Penang for over three weeks to celebrate the Chinese New Year with our family in Penang. We decided to stay here again on the same trip. We like the amenities offered by Ascott such as the in-room washer and dryer, spacious room layout and excellent staff service. We walked to Gurney Plaza shopping mall and avoided the headaches of finding parking in the crowded shopping mall garage. This is a great hotel and we will certainly stay here again in the future."
