"Das Falkenstein is on the outskirts of Kaprun, so it would be most helpful to have a car, which I did. It's a traditional Austrian hotel with that style of decor. Everything was super clean, my single room was very comfortable, the WiFi was great, and the breakfast was plentiful (even fresh watermelon), farm fresh eggs (their own chickens, which I "visited" out back!). Free parking right out front with more across the street, where the scenic river rushed by. Staff was very nice and helpful....

"Very noisy hotel, I’d avoid if your looking for a good nights sleep. Coaches pulling up outside throughout the night dropping off and or collection people. Inadequate lifts for size of hotel, just one lift serving two of five floors. No air conditioning even in breakfast room. I will not stay here again. "

"1- hotel was not clean and full of bugs and spiders. It was in yhe ceiling (photo attached) 2- No wifi given 3- no tv was at the room although it says in the hooking that there is a tv. 4- towels are so old and could not even use them! "Very good location, clean and all basics provided, however the plates and cups could do with replacing, as a lot of them are chipped and not matching. I arrived late, in the dark, and luckily my son lives in the apartment block next door so he got the key for me from the hausmeister. There is no obvious hausmeister office outside, he lives inside the block, so you would need to know which number he is in to press the buzzer for entry, and that was not provided. Also, no towels or tea towels are...

"The place was quite clean and nice, and they allowed us an early check in. Our lodge was nice and spacious, and comfortable to stay in. Sauna was pretty nice too, only really busy on one of the evenings we were there, but overall had the necessities. Close to the town centre, and there’s a free shuttle bus to take you to the ski area too.
