Old 1930s cottage nestled in the stunning historic Karangahake Gorge hamlet. With open views to Mt Karangahake.
Fully equiped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave etc. TV with chromecast, DVD player and freeview. Free wifi. Heat pump and woodburner.
Hot tub, outdoor area, children's play area.

3 mins walk to the Karangahake reserve swingbridge and historic goldmining walks.

For children there is a play area up at the Karangahake School just a few minutes walk. Access only outside of school hours.

Rail trail cycleway 5 mins walk. Falls Retreat restaurant and Waikino Tavern restaurant 5 mins drive. Waihi Beach 20 mins drive.

Supermarkets, fastfood, restaurants, etc in Paeroa 5 mins drive and Waihi 10mins drive.

Whangamata Beach 40min drive.

Great stop over and explore

Had a great stay in a house that had everything we needed. Very cute cottage and loved the lush backyard and kids especially loved the spa pool. Had a great time exploring the old mines before heading up north. Lovely host as well!

Perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Easy access to walks, Paeroa and Waihi close by, great house and garden and bonus hot tub. Have stayed a few times now, and will be back again soon!

Spring getaway with a spa!

Such a cosy, cute cottage right in the heart of the Gorge. Lots of beautiful walks / rides in the area. Gorgeous private garden to relax in... and read in the sun. Our second stay!

A perfect getaway

With the surrounding gardens it feels like a private and quiet oasis. The house and gardens are lovely and the hot tub is great for soaking and relaxing at the end of the day. We will be visiting again in the future.

Biking weekend in the gorge

Excellent location to do day rides on the hauraki rail trail. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. House was cosy, clean and comfy. Kids loved the treehouse and spa too.

Fanastic Gem!

This cottage was fantastic. Great location, private garden complete with hot tub, beautifully renovated space with quirky, tasteful pieces ( LOVED the shacklock!). The beds were very comfy, the rooms spacious, the kids loved the olde worlde decor and we cant wait to come back - only next time it will be for longer!!

Shhhhhhhhh! We want to keep this place a secret. This is our go-to place to stay when we want a quick escape from Auckland and all the noise. Perfect location for access to walk, Waihi and Paeroa 10 mins either way for conveniences.

Hidden Treasure

A gorgeous cottage with everything we needed. Close to Hauraki Cycle trail which we did as day trips. Lovely hot tub to soak in and washing machine with a small sunporch- great for drying clothes even with the odd showers. The garden and plants are exquisite and you can walk across the road to the Karangahake gorge.

Short but delectable

Situated close enough to the gorge that you hear the rushing waters at night. Spa is great and feels private from neighbours with greenery on both sides, and looking out onto the garden. Spacious and well appointed inside with a new kitchen. Its a great mix of being away from the hustle that you can feel relaxed, but close enough if you need to nip into Paeroa for anything. It was a great short trip from Auckland for the weekend

We really enjoyed our stay at this absolutely gorgeous cottage. The garden is lovely and the spa in the back yard was the perfect way to finish the evening. Inside the house is a large kitchen with everything you need to cook. The house was spotless and tastefully decorated. Beds we comfortable. The cottage is walking distance to the gorge carpark and trails which is perfect if you were exploring the area. Only mistake we made was not staying long enough.
