We enjoyed the huge shaded area which was perfect for chilling with a book or drying off after a swim. The local beach is very small but great for a swim or a snorkel. The directions to the villa were great and kept us off the rough tracks which a sat nav can take you via. We enjoyed the taverna at Avithos beach which has great food and lovely views. "Very good convenient location for pretty good sandy beech and restaurants. Great parking facility out front. Apartment quite basic but with nice balcony a few things in the kitchen department need attention! "

"This was our 2nd stay in Villa Varkoula. It’s a simple but lovely villa, with pool and great views of hills. Very peaceful. A joy to watch the swallows/swifts dipping down to sip from the swimming pool, a few sightings of an eagle and cute bats in the evening. A car is essential, but the town of Lixouri and several lovely and not too busy beaches are all within a short drive. Perfect for a quiet getaway or as a base to explore the wonderful island of the Kephalonia."

"Perfectly located hotel, rooms petite but perfectly arranged. Comfortable bed with good quality linens, beautiful balcony with sun beds and sea view. Breakfast varied and good quality. Lovely rooftop sunbathing area and jacuzzi. Would highly recommend a stay. "

Great apartment in a good location

"My wife and I stayed here for two weeks in September 2024. We loved it. We had a 1 bedroom junior suite with a sea view. The apartment is on the second floor. If you have any mobility problems, please note that there is no lift. The location of the complex is excellent, right on the sea front. The beach, as with many on Kefalonia is stony. This area of the beach has no public facilities so is very quiet. The apartment was large, we had a double balcony. There was air conditioning in both the lounge area and bedroom. It is modern and well furnished. The kitchen area included a large fridge-freezer, hob, toaster kettle and coffee maker. There was also a washing machine in the bathroom,which we were not expecting. The shower had both a waterfall shower head and a second hand-held shower lower down. The hot water came through quickly which isn't always the case. The bed was large, and very comfortable. There was a large built in wardrobe with lots of draw space. Locally, there were two tavernas and a cafe, with a bakery nearby. Sami is a five minute drive away, and in the other direction Agia Elfimia is 10 minutes away. Both have a number of taverans and shops. Karavomylos was a good location for seeing the island. Argostelli was about 30 minutes away, Fiscardo 45 minutes, Assos and Myrtos beach 30 minutes drive. It was a really good apartment in a location that we thought was ideal. "
