Take advantage of excellent night skiing opportunities as well as a range of challenging runs at this popular resort.

Keystone Ski Resort is well known as one of the region’s top family-friendly ski destinations. While the resort provides plenty of runs for novice and intermediate skiers, it also offers an extensive range of black runs. Be sure to try illuminated night skiing in the spring.

The resort’s slopes are spread across three different peaks: Dercum Mountain, North Peak and the Outback to Wapiti Peak ridge. The peaks are connected by a system of chairlifts and gondolas. Head to Dercum Mountain to ski on the resort’s most gentle, family-friendly terrain. Reach the summit via high-speed chairs, the River Run gondola or take a tour on a heated snowcat.

Ski or ride down the back side of Dercum Mountain to reach North Peak, a mix of steep mogul runs and groomed cruising trails. Alternatively, take a ride in the Outpost gondola. The Outback is purposefully ungroomed, with the trees thinned enough for newer skiers and riders to practise in glade terrain. Some areas here are reserved for experienced skiers.

Keystone’s A51 Terrain Park is one of the country’s best, with more than 100 features spread over 60 acres (24 hectares). Perfect your skills on the park’s diverse jumps, rails, jibs and superpipe.

Return to the slopes in the evening for night skiing. The only resort in Summit County to feature night skiing, Keystone is touted as offering the longest ski days and the most lighted trails in Colorado. The schedule varies each year, but many lifts are open until mid-evening Wednesdays to Saturdays throughout the ski season. Watch the sun set over the Rocky Mountains while enjoying crowd-free runs on the slopes.

Keystone Ski Resort is located in Summit Country and is surrounded by numerous other excellent ski resorts. Fly into Denver International Airport or Vail Eagle Airport, both about a 90-minute drive from the resort. Rent a car at either airport or use the shuttle services offered by several different companies.
