"The house and cottage was perfect for our family reunion of 12 and 2 little ones. Bathroom and shower/tub in every room! Kitchen and Dining area and seating for 18 inside and out was perfect. Amazing kitchen with plenty of dishes and all possibly needed to cook large meals. Three sitting rooms with fireplace and wood provided Games, books, puzzles, game room, outside badminton and soccer. We enjoyed some lovely walks and explored the castle and church. In the evenings we played board games in the cosy sitting room and the formal dining room made mealtimes special. "The barn conversion is set in stunning Shropshire scenery. When we arrived we received a warm welcome from the owner. The property is warm and comfortable with many original features. There was plenty of room for the 11 family members in our group - lots of comfy armchairs, and pretty bedlinen on all the beds. The kitchen was slightly small for so large a group but we managed without a problem. There is a large Sainsbury's store within easy reach and we found plenty to do."

"Historical building which has been heavily invested in to upgrade. Bathroom lovely, lift slow but steady. We loved the history behind the hotel, we did not love the parking which was VERY tight, nor the fire alarm blaring at 11pm, or the amorous couple in the room beside us. We heard every episode! Beds comfortable as were the pillows. Rooms were serviced daily. Meals were available. I feel an exhaust fan to the bathroom would be a terrific improvement "

"Liked hotel, lovely old fashioned atmosphere and spacious rooms. Had to change room due to unacceptable lumpy mattress. New room mattress was better but still needed to be upgraded or replaced. This one issue spoiled what was otherwise an excellent hotel. "

"Absolutely loved our stay at Somerville hotel, everything was just perfect when we arrived, the bed was incredible it was so so so comfy, and the breakfast was delicious!!! The hosts were really lovely and welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble. We had a fab locally sourced mini bar in our room and down in the dining room that was very reasonably priced and fresh milk for the room for tea and coffee What a great touch way better the uht pots you usually get elsewhere If you want to stay in or around Hereford then a stay here is a must! We will definitely be back."

"This is the third year we have stayed to celebrate an AGM. Frankly we were very disorganised re. Numbers. But the Pilgrim were amazing accommodating 40/45 people all very last minute, the food was totally amazing bearing in mind there were so many different variables for a three course meal coming of their table D’hote menu. All delivered in flustered and with smiles on faces. The kitchen staff must have been frantic but boy did they deliver. Thank you again and see you all on December 1st 2025. "

Brilliant Staff & Excellent Service

"My wife and I stayed at the Elms for a one night stay as a birthday treat. The hotel is a beautiful building set in pretty park grounds. There was ample parking. Check-in staff were brilliant! Very friendly and professional. The gentleman helped us carry our luggage to the top floor which could be a bit of a hike for less mobile people or someone who struggles with stairs. The Spa area is very quirky and has everything you need to relax for a few hours. The outdoor jacuzzi is a nice touch. We had a wonderful meal in the Badger Bar and Grill. The quality of the food was amazing and the service was first class! My wife and I were very impressed with how professional and friendly the young serving staff were throughout our 3 course meal. It makes so much difference to have attentive and pleasant staff! breakfast the next morning was also excellent with plenty of choice and a different set of staff who were equally as good as the previous dinner shift. Overall we had a lovely stay and will definitely return."
