"Let's get this out of the way right now: this isn't the Marriott, Hyatt or Four Seasons. Walk up the front stairs and be greeted by two dogs who run the joint. Say hi to a few gentleman smoking cigars and having a beer. Walk inside, meet the owner who points you to the bar, says the first beer is on him, and welcomes you. Drop your stuff in your room. Walk to the bar, and see: stained glass lamps, a suit of armor, stuffed bears, a mounted elk, a mounted deer, plush couches, hotel guests...

"The lodge was amazing. The rooms were huge and very very spacious, including the bathrooms. Extremely clean and the mattress and pillows were the most comfortable ones I’ve ever come across in a hotel room. The staff was very friendly and warm. Unfortunately they were shutting down for business and I was apparently the last guest to checkout! I wish they’d keep it running. I’d go back to the catskills just to stay there!"

"Lovely find! Quaint and quiet with mountains and trees surroundings. Dining and bar right underneath the rooms with an outdoor area for chairs circling a fire ring. We felt like the only ones there on the weekend. Beautiful fall foliage drive to Phoenicia and Woodstock. "
