"We stayed here with our two kids (aged 8 and 10) when we went to visit friends in Yukuhashi. We booked two twin rooms (the biggest they had) and had one adult and one child per room. I think there are only two twin rooms per floor, so we were across the corridor from each other which was convenient. "Very helpful and supportive to change my room into a non-smoking twin-bed room from the other style. Economic room rate and great dinner site (Izakaya). One problem was to reserve a taxi from another town back to the hotel in the evening (This is not the hotel's problem but the area's one)"

"Hotel located up in the mountains. You will definitely need a car to get to this location. Be sure to check booking whether the room has a bathroom or not. They have the communal bathroom with hot baths which is located on the ground floor. They charge per person so you may as well book a second room which would cost as much. Breakfast provided is good. Very friendly staff. Lots of things to do like golf, badminton, table tennis etc at extra cost. Must book for ea h activity."

"Stayed for a couple of weeks whilst visiting friends and family in the area. Exterior of the hotel is impressive and the free parking is a good bonus. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from Shin-Iizuka station and there are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The interior of the hotel is dated and I suspect it hasn't been updated since the hotel was built in the late 80's or early 90's. "Nansuikaku is a beautiful ryokan in a village location. The food was top quality, breakfast and dinner. Having a bathroom and onsen in the room was a good way to go for the shy foreign traveller, but they also have access by booking (40 min per day) to the family onsen which is good for couples wanting to experience onsen together. We travelled to the location by local bus from Fukuoka and continued on to Beppu by local bus and train - so the isolation is not a problem if you have time."

I Would Definitely Return!

"I stayed three times during my trip. The first and second time the rooms were pretty basic. The third time when I stayed 2 nights I had the Double Superior room which was a definite upgrade from the previous standard rooms. All rooms have a nice soaking bathtub with bath additives and a lot of amenities including coffee, tea and bottled water. The even numbered rooms have better views. The service overall at the hotel was excellent from cloak service, cashier, lobby assistance, and restaurant. The hotel is very conveniently located to the Tenjin station and convenience stores, shopping and restaurants. My flight was in the evening, so I asked for a late checkout which was just for a couple of hours at ¥2000 per hour. I would definitely stay here again! "

"The staff and the amenities ( face steamer , massage cushion, hair dryer, umbrella ) is above and beyond. The location is the best of all. Near the jr hakata station. The staff are very accomodating. What i dont like is the towels are plced in a box on the bathroom floor besides the trash can which i dont find hygienic. "
