"The onsen (especially the open air bath) was beautiful, relaxing, clean, and well managed. The staff were extremely helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. I would absolutely recommend for your stay."

"The Hanayura is fantastic. The facilities are old but it's all clean and well kept. The front doors smell of sulfur but that's because you're in an onsen town. The meals were fantastic. Very filling and very intricately prepared. Be aware that the meals may not be to everyone's taste. Or you may not notice the intricacy or details in the preparation. But you're here to experience a traditional ryokan and traditional meals. If that's not for you then you shouldn't pick some place like this. The in room onsen cools down at the bottom in the morning so mix the water before hopping in. Assortment of public onsen was great as well. The hotel has a walk through to another onsen that you can access for free as well. We only found out on the last day"

"Beautiful hotel with picturesque outdoor baths and variety of indoor baths and sauna. Huge buffet for breakfast and dinner with variety of Asian food and some western choices."

"Onsen, ice cream, massage chair, night ramen noodle. All of them are free! I also like the breakfast here. The staff are very friendly, too. The only thing I’d complain is one of two sleeping pajamas hanging on the closet has an unpleasant smell."

"The hotel is very Japanese classic, you need to take off your shoes and store it at the entrance. Besides that, it is great! The staffs there are super friendly; The hot spring is definitely top tier, with nature spring hot water in. Room is also Japanese style, room is spacious and cozy. The only thing that need to notice is that the area does not have much public transportation or taxi services, you can ask the front desk to call a taxi for you, but need to prepare additional waiting time."
