An Affordable Alternative to Expensive Accommodations in Poipu

When you arrive, just park in the driveway between the yellow lines... the car on the far right will be partly on the gravel. The front door is never locked and there will be a welcome note for you taped to the inside door post. Please take it to your room which will be open, keys on the bed..

Lanai Villas is nestled in an area of private homes and is part of the Poipu Kai Resort complex. You will have a key to the pool and Jacuzzi area. And for an hourly price there are 9 tennis courts.

We are just a few minutes walk from the GRAND HYATT HOTEL and many wedding party guests stay with us when the wedding is on the Hyatt property.

All three of our suites are on the ground floor. All have private entrances and locks. We are in an extremely safe area.

Poipu is the South and sunny side of Kauai. WE have three golf courses within one mile and all the beaches are public. The new shops at Kukuiula features many of the brand name stores like Tommy Bahama. with upscale shopping, galleries, and many restaurants and cafes, along with a market and drugstore. The shopping area borders the 18-hole Kiahuna Golf Course and the 4-court Kiahuna Tennis Club. The 5-Star Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa, offering golf, yoga, massage and workout opportunities.

We provide our guests body boards and some snorkel gear free along with lots of beach towels. If you are into adventure, there are scuba shops and outfitters Hawaii near by plus zip lines and atv tours all within a couple miles.

You can park your car in the driveway. We just need to get three cars in so those on the right hand end will have one tire on the gravel.. The front door is never locked so you can arrive anytime after 3:00 p.m. check out is 10:00 a.m.

Nice stay close to beach
Nice little place, you basically get a small apartment all to yourself. The cooking area has the basics if you want to cook at home. A lot of great beach gear was provided which was super nice. A small beach 10 min walk from the house was great.

Casual with a great location on Kawai. We had a Pleasant short walk to the shore. The first day, my wife and I walked down to the beach for sunset. As we approached the beach, saw a whale breaching just offshore. I saw only the big splash. She was a lucky lady!

Great Home Base
Cam's place was a perfect place to call homebase for a couple days. It's located in a nice quiet part of Poipu and pretty close to Poipu Beach. Cam was very responsive and accommodating, a great host!

Quiet stay close to beach
We enjoyed our stay in Poipu. A quiet neighborhood within walking distance to the beach. Many amenities were provided for inside and outside. This included a cooler, beach chairs and other beach equipment. Cam gave us a gift of chocolate covered macadamia nuts and left us some bananas from his property.

Just what we needed
Cam's property was perfect for us. The location was great. It was quiet and relaxing. We were able to find our way around the neighborhood easily. The instructions were easy and user friendly. Things were set up for our arrival. There were plenty of chairs, umbrellas, etc. for beach use. The linens were clean and comfortable. The kitchenette had everything we needed to cook. We ate breakfast there daily as we wanted to explore the local cuisine for lunch and dinner. We felt at home here. We would happily return.

Amazing location
Very quite property with a nice lanai. Conveniently located close to the beach. The property was well equipped with the necessary appliances (large and new refrigerator) and kitchen tools. Very friendly landlord (thanks fo the welcoming macadamia candies).

The host was a nice person, there were plenty of beach supplies on the porch you can use. The bedroom was small but clean bed was good. The hot plate in the cooking area was marginal. You have to buy your own coffee. The price for the area was reasonable.

I really enjoyed how close the property was to the beach. Very quiet area. Home was old and run down. There were cockroaches in the bathroom and kitchen areas. Water dripped from the shower. Couldn’t close the screen door for the patio, was off the track. Would not stay there again.

Cute and charming
I had stayed here solo, just for one night before heading to the other side of the island. It was everything I needed for my short stay. The location was great. The space was clean. I didn’t use the kitchen but it seemed to have enough to work with for a party of 2- if needed. The full size refrigerator was a plus. The bed was comfy enough. The futon will need the extra padding provided. I didn’t check out the pool because I came for the beaches. I read some reviews that said it was out dated. I found the space to be endearing and safe. If you want luxurious, there are many expensive alternatives to go for. Everything listed is accurate. Cam the host was quick to respond and gave very good instructions upon arrival. I would stay here again. Mahalo!

First and foremost Camron was an excellent host. VERY nice and accommodating. Picked me fresh papya. The place has a well appointed kitchen. Full size frig. We ate breakfast there every morning. Microwave, coffee machine & 2 burner hot plate made it very convient. No air-conditioning just want to mention this in case this is important to you. There are ceiling fans and a floor fan that are helpful. There is a washing machine and dryer in the hallway and I definitely took advantage of them. Cameron has Kirkland Free detergent, there for you to use. My favorite thing about this place is it was in a very nice upscale neighborhood right next The Gand Hyatt. 5 min walk to a BEAUTIFUL beach. 10 min walk to dinner or coffee shop, car ride away to shopping or Longs drug store. There is a pool that you can walk to to use. Cam has very clear instructions on what to do. We enjoyed our 9 days in Kauai. This place has 3 separate units. It was very affordable, plenty of clean towels. The place is not the newest and could use some upgrading but it was clean.

Best value in Poipu!!!
We loved our stay here and this place is a diamond when compared to the mostly expensive accomodations in the area of Poipu close to the beaches. Cam was a great and friendly host - always quick to respond to any questions. We enjoyed seeing his photos on the walls of his history in mountaineering and seems he has lived a life of adventure, retiring on Kauai. The checkin instructions were clear. About the unit: 2 rentals on the main floor of a detached house, host lives upstairs (don’t let that be a deterrant, he is as relaxed and chill as it gets) BEST VALUE YOU WILL FIND IN POIPU! All the photos are accurate, but what I wasn’t expecting was this affordable unit to be located in such a gorgeous area. Close to the beaches, hiking trails, the hyatt, surrounded by beautiful homes and simply the most scenic neighbourhood I have ever seen. Extremely quiet and safe area and we loved walking to Brennecke’s and Poipu beach. The pool and hot tub were great. Cooler/umbrella/body boards/snorkelling equipment/noodles and more provided. There are no other accomodations at this price point in Poipu. The unit is simple, but extremely well equipped. Washer dryer in building with detergent provided was most welcomed. Cool breeze through the windows- AC not required! If you want luxury, spend 800$ a night and go to the hyatt. If you appreciate simple but well equipped accomodation at a great price point in the best of areas with a lovely host, there is nothing better than Cam’s place.

Quick trip to Kauai in between Big Island vacation.
Everything was set up well for what we needed. Communication was great. Slept great both nights. Close to beach and restaurants. Owner had alot of things we could borrow, such as body boards, beach chairs, snorkel gear, small coolers, and many other things. For the price it's pretty hard to complain about anything unless your just a miserable unhappy person. Thanks Cam for an easy and pleasant stay.

On a adoré la terrasse pour prendre les repas et se reposer et d'avoir accès à des chaises de plage, parasol et autres. La cuisine était bien équipée. Beaucoup de recommandations locales. Par contre, l'absence de climatisation nous a surpris, c'est surtout qu'après une journée de randonnée au soleil on aurait préféré pouvoir avoir un appartement frais. Par contre, avec les ventilateurs, la nuit c'était confortable.

Great location
We selected the property as an affordable option for a friends wedding at the Hyatt next door. It was a great spot and only a 5 min walk to the Hyatt to be able to join all the wedding events and shuttles easily. It is also a 5 min walk to the beach. The property is quaint and cozy. Easy checkin and communication. One thing worth noting is the unit does not have air conditioning. I’m sure this is fine most times of the year but was warm when we visited in August. The owner lives upstairs and brought us extra fans
