Die Nähe zum Tiveden Nationalpark war klasse; eine tolle Empfehlung der Vermieter. Der Weg zum See war doch weiter weg als uns bewusst war, aber das Wasser war sauber und zum Schwimmen geeignet. Wir zwei waren sehr zufrieden mit unseren Aufenthalt. "

And they can get away with this because of the situation they are in due to the indoor football field they have for youth cups. That's why my family and I booked a room in this small, boring town to begin with. And the only reason. So there is not much to choose from, plus most people will never be coming back there. So they can just pretend they are a nice hotel...

"I have stayed in this property before and like the area. You are in a nice residential neighborhood with a short walk to the lake and path, 45 min. roundtrip. Very relaxing. The food is the standard Scandinavian breakfast. There are a few options for lunch and dinner within walking distance but the other options are in Kristinehamn 5-11 minutes away. The room had a small refrigerator so one could buy food at ICA Maxi like a bread roll and deli-meat, roasted chicken…etc. The restaurant scene is not that vibrant, mostly pizza/kebab restaurants. Like many smaller hotels in Sweden reception hours are short and service is not available during most hours. Especially if you travel off season like me; late April through May where I was one of 5 guest at this hotel during my stay. Recommend you do not show up earlier that the 3 pm checkin time as now one is there. I got there at 2 pm and took a nice walk by the shore and returned at 3 pm for checkin. Also I had one hotel on this trip that had a no checkin beyond 7 pm policy. My reason for coming to this area is my family’s grave at Kristinehamns Nya Kyrkogård about 6 minutes by car from this hotel."

That's why my family and I booked a room in this small, boring town to begin with. And the only reason. So there is not much to choose from, plus most people will never be coming back there. So they can just pretend they are a nice hotel rather than a glorified hostel and get away with it. I am shocked by the high reviews this place had compared to our experience. We honestly would have preferred to stay at an actual hostel and pay half of what we paid for our room at "Hotel" bro. And don't get me started with the breakfast! It's so clear what they do, which is the bare minimum! They go to Lidl and buy the cheapest food so you can get bad coffee, a bowl of cereal, and an overcooked boiled egg. I'd be fine with this breakfast at another kind of establishment, and indeed I have had similar and even slightly better breakfasts at hostels. But yeah, it was clean and the bed was fine. The "lounge" is just four chairs in the corner of a hallway. I'd say avoid it, but if you're a football family, too bad. It is pretty close to the football arena. We'd never stay at this place again."
