Cons: To start, the walk to the property is the furthest walk on the entire street practically only up hill walking. It is quite annoying to get anywhere if you want to leave the property. "Great property on the hilly (mountain-y) slope with plenty of room (by Japanese standards) for our family of 4 adults, a kid and a baby. There was ample parking lots for our rental car and it was a short drive to amenities, and sights like Lake Ashi and the Hakone ropeway. Loved the fact that the 7-11 was a short walk up the hill, a restaurant next door, and a brewery on the other side of the house. "

It is stressful when you are not able to contact anyone from the property and there are restrictions that if you get late, there wiill be extra charges. "We had a very brief stay and it was clean, comfortable and as described on the website. Very happy. About 8-10 min walk from train station, beautiful walk over the footbridge. Only issue is lack of restaurants after 19:00 and we never received our code to check in to the room-luckily staff was onsite to quickly assist!"

"It is a historic hotel so expect the look to be a little dated, however, that is what adds charm to it. Overall a comfortable hotel, bathroom not so great (review is for FORESTWING TWIN FOREST SIDE). French restaurant is very nice for dinner as well as breakfast, it feels a little formal but a nice experience. Hotel garden is nice, staff is very helpful."

"This hotel was excellent - fantastic and helpful service, very clean both in the rooms and in the common areas, great food, serene atmosphere, and generously sized rooms. Our room had a balcony with a private onsen, which was absolutely worth the splurge. The view was beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfy the futons were when we slept. The location was convenient to the bus lines but still so peaceful and quiet. 10/10 stars, without hesitation. I would love to come back!"
