Welcome to a Lake House where life is just better and memories are made!
We are proud to introduce you to our lake house, which is located on Pine Lake in La Porte, IN. This beautiful house has 3200 square feet of living space, so that any family will feel comfortable and relaxed. It has been completely remodeled to comfort each and every guest in this house. Six beautiful rooms and two baths will allow each guest to have their privacy and sleep comfortably(Sleeps 12 ), maximum is 12 people! Large living room with panoramic windows and fire place will allow our guests to see the stunning sunrises and sunsets with a view of the lake as you relax, refresh and revive. There are a lot of activities that can be done such as: boating, swimming, jet skiing, kayaking and fishing. As you walk downstairs to the walkout basement, you will see a pool/ping pong table for those who like to play. Sauna can hold up to five people where you can rest and gain energy for your busy life. Our basement has a walk-out sliding doors that will open the view of our beautiful backyard and the lake, where you can sit down and relax.
Bring your boat or rent one at local Marina and enjoy 564 acre Pine Lake. You can dock your boat right in front of the property. Backyard gives you enough space to play volleyball or badminton.

Paradise on the Lake
Great experience the house was ideal for our large family. The one thing that would have helped access to the porch door leading to the front parking. Plenty to do both at the house and in town ate at Around the Clock three times. Met the neighbor Frank and two of us being retired Navy we’ll need I say more. Thumbs up would recommend this vacation to anyone who asked me. Thanks

Family Thanksgiving
My wife and I and our 4 kids (19-24) visited LaPorte for my family’s Thanksgiving as a family for the first time. Had my siblings and all the cousins over Wednesday night. 31 in all for dinner. All fit, a great time. Easy to spread out and enjoy the holidays. Great space.

Amazing experience
The house was perfect for 3 families all with kids. The ping pong/pool table were a hit with the adults and older kids. Huge yard with plenty of room for kids of all ages. We rented a boat from a local marina so having the dock in the backyard was perfect. The experience with the owner was great to. She was extremely helpful and always answered any questions that I had before our trip.

Friend Getaway
We were looking for a weekend getaway for 5 adult couples and a boat. Safona on the Lake was the perfect place for us. The house is spacious, clean, and and the lake is perfect for swimming and skiing. We sat outside, which offers plenty of seating and a fire pit. However this weekend was very warm so we also spent a lot of time indoors. We were able to play pool, ping-pong and sit in in the hot tub. We really enjoyed our stay and are thinking of booking for next year!

Perfect lake house for weekend getaway!
Absolutely loved staying at Sofana on the lake. Location was quiet enough to relax but near enough to stores to stock for dinner. All the furnishings are well kept and comfortable. Unlike many VRBO's there are many double beds which was nice for all the married couples on the trip. The owners were very good to work with and responded promptly to any questions we had. Lots of seating and relaxation spaces. There was a train set and other toys that entertained the 9 month old to the 6 year old at the house. Speedy wi-fi with good coverage. 5 stars for everything, can't wait to stay again.

Wonderful place for a family getaway !
Sofana On The Lake was the perfect place for our family trip! We were 8 adults and 4 kids under 5. There was plenty to do for all, in this beautiful, clean, spacious home. The house was bigger than in looked in the pictures. It was well stocked and the kids loved the big yard, swing set and toys. We loved the kitchen and huge dining table. The location and the lake gave us plenty to do. We kayaked, rented a boat from Pine Lake Marina, went to the dunes, enjoyed a day at Washington Park Zoo, went blueberry picking, had fires in the fire pit and grilled out! We highly recommend this wonderful property and look forward to returning!

House is well kept
The house is well kept - unfortunately it had snowed and the walk/driveway was not cleared prior to our arrival. The owner had someone bring over a shovel asap. It wasn't how we intended on starting our trip, but snow happens! All-in-All we were very happy with the rental & the level of communication!

Great location and party lake! Lots of young and fun.
We absolutely love the property and location. July 4th fireworks are amazing. Neighborhood fireworks were a pleasant addition. If you want a great time and location this is the place to rent. A few things to be aware of... bring toilet paper, bug spray and paper towels. Bring garbage bags. This is our second year using this house and we had an amazing time. The neighborhood is a party. Neighbors stop by regularly and will pop up often to join the festivities. Lots of party music happening from all sides, people up and about day and night so hard not to have a smile on your face when are here.

Fun family lake vacation
Amazing location with breathtaking views. The weather was not very accommodating but because of the varied amenities (pool table, ping pong table, sauna, hot tub, games, kids toys, bags and spacious layout), all enjoyed the stay - from grandparents to infants. The last day, the weather was gorgeous so we were able to enjoy the outdoors. The pre-teens/teens enjoyed shooting hoops while the preschoolers played in the sandbox and on the playground/swings. The adults were able to sit on the deck to view the expansive lake views. Later, flashlight exploring was had while the adults prepared the fire pit for s’mores. Plenty of seating inside and out allowed for great game play at various levels. Fantastic place for families looking to relax and reconnect in nature.

Family Friendly for ages 3+
We had 18 mo twins and the stairs were a challenge. We brought our own baby gates but they would not fit the wide openings. The downstairs was a colder than upstairs. We really enjoyed the deck with cover. Landscaping was beautiful. Caught a lot of little fish off dock with 5 year old grandchildren. There is no swimming beach. The inside dining table was great. We had 6 adults and 2 children around it but could have sat more. Really enjoyed the fire pit near the house. The sandbox and swingset was a plus for our grandchildren.

Great house, lake and location
The pictures do not do this fantastic place justice. Love the direct access to Pine Lake. We rented a boat from Pine Lake Marina and kept it at the house our entire stay. We had three families (14 people) with ages as little as 4 and there was something for everyone. There were beds for everyone and plenty of space to move around. A massive kitchen table so everyone could eat together. The kids play set and sand box were a hit with the little ones. The hot tub, sauna, ping pong and pool were great for the bigger kids/adults. The fire pit was great at night for everyone. There is tons of outdoor space to run around. The kids were also able to fish right off the pier. Great distance from the Chicago area and the town has everything you need (groceries, liquor store, etc) with delivery right to the house. I would totally recommend this place.

The lake house that had it all!
My family of 13 did a long weekend vacation for my mom's 60th birthday and this house really had it all (hot tub, pool table, sauna, fire pit, huge yard, beautiful deck, swing set with slide, sandbox, indoor toys for my 2yr old, and a dock to tie up the pontoon boat we rented. The house is WAY bigger than the pictures look. We set up a volleyball net in the yard, played bocce ball, took the boat out, swam, grilled, took a dip in the hot tub, and sat by the fire at night. It rained for a couple hours but the pool table, game tables, sauna, and hot tub kept us all occupied. The big table right off the kitchen was huge! It fit all 13 of us and made cooking and socializing fun for all. Sergii was also very responsive and easy to communicate with. The house was very clean, comfortable, private, and in a very nice neighborhood. I will definitely rent again next year!

Quite Cozy Relaxing House on the Lake
House was large enough for all of us and is very kid friendly. The location just off the main lake worked out well with 2 boats as they were protected from any harsh weather. The house has plenty of room for everyone and is close to town along with stores. Owner had quick responses to all of our questions.

Family Reunion
The property was as advertised... The house is in a great neighborhood and the amenities were as described. We had 10 Adults, 1 small child and an infant staying in the house for 8 days. There was never a time we felt cramped or had nothing to do. There were even several toys available in the home to keep our 4-year-old granddaughter occupied during quite times. We do wish there were mirrors in the bedrooms and that the downstairs bathroom shower had a shelf for shampoo & soap. However, overall, we were very pleased with the accommodations!
