Great Villa, well located, lovely pool
Lovely villa, very spacious, well located, kitchen is well equipped but outdated units, which didn't worry us as we expected the Villa to be a traditional one, which it was. Very quaint generally, the only down side was the very small dishwasher, which would be detrimental if you had big family meals in the Villa. We ate out mostly and it was fine for breakfast bits. Overall we had a great relaxing time here.

Great!
Loved staying at Villa Hibiscus, this is the fifth villa we've stayed at in Carvoiero and is our favourite due to the more traditional style and layout coupled with the fantastic garden. The location is very quiet and within easy walking distance of beaches and the town. Aleix, Claudio and Ilda couldn't have been more helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our week at the house. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Superb villa in great location
Beautiful villa in.lovely grounds within walking distance of Carvieiro. Alex the owner answered all my questions promptly and Claudio met us at the property and checked us in very efficiently. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

We tenter the property three years ago for my wife’s 65 th birthday Due to covid we had to cancel and the following year again due to my daughter’s pregnancy So we arrived at last with a 12 month granddaughter The property is in a lovely area of Carvoiero And the gardens surrounding the villa have some ponds and two hammocks when the sun gets too much The villa is rustic and not very suitable for an infant just starting to walk with a lot of steps leading to the pool and the terrace The villa would be ideal for adults with a lovely pool and patios We had two issues The gas stove and hob we could not get working on our first night Unfortunately the manager was 60 miles away-it was a Saturday night so this was not fixed till Monday Also the patio door in the living room would not lock so we had to close the steel shutters every night before going out They were extremely stiff and one of the hinges was broken making it very difficult to lock There was plenty of cutlery and dinner service And plenty of wardrobe and luggage space in all rooms In all a very nice holiday but suitable more for adults and older children I On

A great Villa, backed up by a helpful and friendly team
The property is delightful and perfect for our needs. Plenty of outdoor space to sunbath, eat and drink. The kitchen was fully equipped, and all bedrooms and bathrooms well maintained. Fantastic to sit on the roof terrace and have a late-night port looking out to sea. The walk into town was fine where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. The team were so helpful.

The magic garden house
Casa Hibiscus is an exceptional property in a beautiful corner of the world. Surrounded by flowers, palms, eucalyptus, olives, cacti, the charming Portuguese home is a ten-minute walk from an ideal beach. We loved the barbecue, pool, and ocean view too!

A fantastic villa and a wonderful stay
We had an amazing time at the Casa Hibiscus. Alex's communication beforehand was amazing, and meeting Claudio for check in was easy and a great way to learn about the villa. The villa itself is perfect - great for kids with perfect facilities for cooking, cleaning and relaxing. The pool was immaculate, and the lady who came in to clean was lovely and put up with us around her! Can't thank you enough for a wonderful stay.

We were very impressed with the level of mask wearing in Portugal, but be prepared for lack of clarity on what the airlines accept for COVID tests - we went to the airport a day prior to departure and that worked well. Out stay in Carvoeiro was great. Wonderful people, great food, beautiful beaches and we were lucky to have great weather. Overall the Villa was good and we enjoyed our stay. Some things to know: hot water is limited because it is thermal, so take your showers later in the day; be prepared to buy all the basics (sugar, condiments, coffee, etc..); there is one not two king size beds; and walking distance to town is 30-40 min, not 15.

Peaceful villa
Family holiday at the beginning of September with 6 adults and a 7 month old baby. Villa is located on a quiet road and is well placed for restaurants and the beach as well as the centre of Carvoeiro. Car needed to visit large supermarkets, where prices are lower and more than the basics are stocked. The villa was very clean and the pool a good size. The exterior of the property is well looked after, with 3 different areas to sit in. Beautiful gardens, and the gardener visited 3 times in our week. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Lots of toys and a spongy playmat for small children. Lovely cot and highchair too. There were a couple of issues with the walk in shower and the patio doors but the property manager dealt with them immediately. Improvements could be made internally - we struggled with the gas oven so only used the hob and the BBQ, the mattresses are too soft and sink in the middle. More mugs would be useful, but the dishwasher is a small one so we were having to use after every meal. The water is heated by solar power, so there didn't appear to be hot water when we got up in the mornings. But there was plenty of hot water when showering before dinner. The furnishings/decor, dark wood mainly, added to the character and were certainly comfortable enough in the evenings. We didn't find the villa gloomy as some reviews suggested. Would definitely recommend to others, and would return in the future if the beds are replaced.

Lovely Villa in great location
We had a great trip at this Villa. It's not a modern villa internally - the owners have filled it with antique furniture but we loved the charm of it. There were lots of little areas to enjoy- bbq area, 3 ponds and hammock as well as the pool area. It would have been good to have a few instruction manuals dotted around but we managed. The Villa is a 15 min walk to centre of Carvoeiro and only short 5min walk to Vale do Covo. There are a few repairs needed that hopefully will be sorted for next season- eg. new pads for the sun loungers. Definitely recommend this villa.

We have had a great holiday staying at this villa. The outside space is amazing, the gardens really well maintained. The ponds are a haven for wildlife and our 4 year old loved seeing the frogs. The pool is really nice. For our 4 year old with water wings it was fine and he never wanted to leave. Bbq was great, in a lovely area of the property with all necessary tools available. The location is secluded and tranquil with the loudest noise in the morning the sound of the frogs and you are still only 5 minutes walk to the algar seco, restaurants and shops and 20 minutes to the middle of Carvoeiro via the seafront boardwalk with entertainement and lots of restaurants. You are also a short drive from large supermarkets and all the amusements on offer in the Algarve. The inside of the villa is nice. It is an old house which has been updated over time. The style you can see from the pictures is very traditional and some of the furniture and furnishings are starting to show their age, though everything works. The rooms are all large with high ceilings and there is a great feeling of space even though furniture itself is all large. The TV is modern and there is a nice music player in the lounge. Beds were massive as were the rooms and were comfortable and there is lots of storage space. The childs room really captured our sons imagination and he loved it. The bathrooms were all functional with the master ensuite showing the most signs of recent updating. Washing machine facilities, bin bags, washing liquid and toilet rolls all provided which was a nice bonus. Cleaning lady was great and helped keep the place spotless. She was very thoughtful and helped our little boy feel at home when we arrived as she showed him where lots of toys were kept. The kitchen is probably the area requiring upgrading sooner rather than later Everything works and there was every possible utensil, though an electric kettle seems a sensible addition. Claudio was great introducing us to the villa and how all facilities worked and was on hand with a fast answer to any questions. Dealing with the owner Aleix was simple and all questions were answered promptly and accurately. Overall we loved our stay and would happily comeback.

Has everything you need and is paved from wonderful beaches and the main town. Loved that the house even had its own music mixes (which we loved!). Thoughtful owner made arriving late at night (providing food) with three kids so much easier and having a house keeper available (lovely lady) was a luxury we enjoyed :)

Fantastic, spacious villa in a beautiful setting
We had a fabulous stay in Carvoeiro at this well-located and spacious villa. It was in a beautiful setting, lots of gardens and greenery, in a quiet neighbourhood easily walkable to beaches and restaurants. The villa was exactly what we were looking for, great decor with all the amenities. Lots of outdoor leisure space, two pretty ponds and the new steps in the pool made for easy accessibility for kids and adults. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely Villa in Perfect Location
My family and I had a lovely relaxing stay at Villa Hibiscus. The villa was extremely roomy and one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in, obviously due to the housekeeper Ilda who had the place spotless and was on hand to clean or do your washing whenever you required! A small issue we had was quickly resolved by Alex the owner with a box of chocolates sent by way of an apology which was very nice. The villa is in a excellent location with only a 5 minute walk to the start of all the shops and restaurants which continue all the way down to the main town centre, taking around 25 mins at a leisurely stroll. There are plenty of ATM's etc which is handy and also a Santander bank. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because unfortunately the swimming pool does not have a shallow end so my son being only 10 could not stand in the water which meant no ball games etc which he normally likes to play with us. I could only just stand as the water reached my chin and I am 5'6"! The ladder leading out of the pool could do with having a few more rungs as it is very short! However, we loved the villa and would definitely go back once my son has grown a little. We also loved watching the frogs in the pond located near beginning of the driveway, a nice unusual feature. Ilda and her daughter Monica were very friendly and helpful and were easily contactable if required. The weather was extremely hot during our stay so it was fabulous to have proper air conditioning in the bedroom rather than ceiling fans, it made a huge difference to a good night's sleep. I would definitely recommend this villa but be aware if you have young children the pool might not be ideal for them if they wish to play games rather than just swim.

Fantastic villa, pool and garden
Wow what a fabulous place! It so much exceeded our already high expectations. Lovely pool and a beautiful garden - what a find. Communication with the owner was easy and helpful. The villa itself was spotless and a lovely lady came in everyday to clean and tidy. The villa was within a 10 min easy walk of the town and restaurants. There is a beach in town but a 5 - 10 min car journey takes you to some fabulous beaches with stunning views. A boat trip along the coast to see the caves is a must. We would recommend this villa without hesitation and hope to return again.

Schönes Haus in guter Lage
Das Haus ist ein nettes, etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Objekt mit einem wunderschönen Garten, schönem Swimmingpool und ausreichend Platz um sich wohl zu fühlen. Die Ausstattung war gut und auch an Kinder wurde gedacht. Schön ist auch, dass man eine Putzfee in Anspruch nehmen kann. Nur einige Kleinigkeiten, wie nicht richtig schließbare Läden und Fliegengitter, sehr lädierte Badewannen und abgeblätterte Tapeten, viel negativ auf. Ansonsten ist es sehr zu empfehlen und auch die Lage ist gut, da man nur ca 10Minuten bis zu den ersten Restaurants im Dorf braucht.
