"This property is a rustic cabin right on the lake. There are lights, water, power so you are not really roughing it. But wood stove for heat so make sure you have something to light stove if you need it. Has canoes, kayaks to use free of charge of you want. "

"We were a late check in 10 pm. Called at 7pm to let them know and no issue. There is a buzzer for to call them when closed. The owner was right down and got me checked in under 5 minutes. This is an old hotel, but they have but time and care into fixing up the rooms. Really good attention from the owner. Pleasant surprise. "

"My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!"

"The cabin is absolutely gorgeous, it’s still close to the road but the property feels woodsy with a lot of trees. We loved everything about our stay, we didn’t catch many fish but that was okay. The weather was perfect and would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to reconnect with nature!!"

"We stayed 7 days. The house is small, but perfect for what we needed. It is upgraded, clean, functional. The price is very good for what you get. Good location between St Ignace and Sault Ste Marie. I recommend it highly."

"We had an awesome stay! Watching the ships and boating the area was amazing! The place is newer construction so it is very nice! We were in contact with the host Jen while there, and they were quick to respond back with answers to any questions we had. If we ever get back to De Tour Village, I hope it’s available to rent again!"
