Hideaway in Saranac
This is a great place -- clean and well-maintained. Owners are very thorough and helpful. Renters should be aware that it's a bedroom in a building that serves as a permanent residence for others, although it's completely independent thereof, with its own entrance. It's like a B&B-type of arrangement. We thoroughly enjoyed it and it was an excellent location for walking to restaurants. Very nice place.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mary and her husband shortly after my arrival. She respected my privacy but was available for questions and suggestions for dining options. A nice notebook had been prepared to acquaint visitors with potential local activities and points of interest. If you like motorcycle travel, husband Kevin can give you pointers on favorite Adirondack road adventures. No TV, so bring a book to relax with.

Stay was off-season and for personal (not vacation) reasons, so cannot comment from that perspective. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. There was lots of natural daylight (windows on 3 walls). Room is located at rear of home so street sounds were negligible. There is plenty of space for clothing storage, and a very comfortable chair, but no desk / work surface. Off street parking was abundant and well lit via motion detector. Recommended and would definitely stay again.

Spent two days here to relax and unwind from a fast paced trip to Montreal. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed touring around the area lakes and walking in downtown Saranac Lake. A great place to relax.

Comfortable but no kitchen
This is a small room with an attached bathroom. It's comfortable but if you want to cook or eat this is not a good choice. There is a mini-fridge and microwave but no cooker. Also no dining table and only one chair. There is a table with chairs outside on the porch but if it rained, as it did during our stay, you have to balance your food on your knees. The bed is very comfortable and there is a ceiling fan. The shower area is good. The location is convenient -- half a mile to the main shopping street. The owner has left useful guides to local dining, hiking and other activities. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but we would have loved to be able to eat comfortably indoors.

I had the small room on the property. Shower stall may be a problem if you're real tall or real big. No TV or writing desk. Everything else is totally fine, and the room is beautifully appointed. Owner affable and helpful :-)

I stayed here for Ironman Lake Placid, it was the perfect location, I'll defiantly go back if its available. It was far enough away from the race area and also close enough to it. the scenery of the area is amazing. Mary was really helpful and accommodating, the room was great, clean cozy and peaceful just what was need before the race.
