"It's a hotel. In a castle. It's brilliant. We extended our journey so that we could get to spend the night in a castle. Pleased with our decision. Staff were great - they put up with my Franglais and we managed to communicate fine. Food - excellent. REALLY good kitchen, and we enjoyed a well priced, high quality evening meal. Breakfast was great too. Then did a tour around the castle, which has nearly 1000 years of history. There was not much else to do in Sedan, otherwise it would have been...

"On our penultimate day of a short jaunt through the Ardennes, we had an enjoyable time in Montherme, visiting the Roc la Tour also know as the Castle of the Devil! There was no chance of taking a boat trip on the river as everything seemed to have closed down, which was a shame as the boat was moored there and the timetable suggested it should have been going."

"We had a brilliant stay with kind and generous host Etienne. A lovely relaxed village and Etienne made us feel very welcome with his warm hospitality and excellent cuisine - highly recommend! Beautiful garden and if you value tranquillity, a genuine sense of ' bon vivant' then book yourselves dinner and a room, and take a walk around Bourseigne - Vielle. The restaurant was closed on the night we stayed and the bar & reception closed early evening. This wouldn’t have been an issue, had the listing not advertised these facilities. This is less a hotel, more a guest house / b&b."
