Gorgeous 3 Bedroom Apartment with Uninterrupted Lauterbrunnen Valley Views

Beautiful 3 bedroom, family friendly apartment in the heart of the Lauterbrunnen Valley. A 10 minute walk from the village centre, Chalet Black comfortably sleeps 7 adults and provides the perfect base for skiing in winter and hiking in summer. The apartment is in the last chalet of the village so has uninterrupted views down the valley from the generous balcony.

In winter, the free bus service runs from the end of the road and gives easy access to either Stechelberg (for the Mürren/Schilthorn ski region) and Lauterbrunnen (for the Kleine Scheidegg/Jungfrau ski region). There is also a cross-country skiing (Langlauf) track that running along the Luterbach river at the side of the apartment. In summer, the hiking possibilities are endless along well marked 'Wanderwege' or if that all sounds too strenuous, feel free to while away long lazy afternoons on the sunny balcony.

The apartment has been furnished to a very high standard with quality Swiss beds, stainless steel appliances, Nespresso machine, flat screen TV (with cable channels in multiple languages, including English), Apple TV and iPhone docks. The kitchen is well stocked with good quality cooking utensils, crockery etc and there is both a fondue set and raclette machine as well as a slow cooker. The apartment has excellent wireless broadband and local tourist taxes are all included in the price (at some other places this is extra).

Oh, and did I mention, we have the best view in the whole of Lauterbrunnen ...

The rates quoted are for 6 people staying. A 7th person can be accommodated, sleeping on the very comfortable sofa bed in the lounge room. This will attract an additional charge (added during the booking process) of £25 per night or £150 per week. There is no additional charge if the 7th person is a baby under the age of 1 (a cot is available on request).

Great location
We loved the location. So easy to get to every place we wanted to go. The only thing was the shower curtain and kitchen sponge could have been changed. Stayed a week so would have liked more than one set of towels. Did ask for more and they were delivered promptly.

Visit to the area made better by the stay
The location of the place was ideal for hiking and getting to many attractions in the area. We enjoyed being out of town where one could enjoy the falls and river. Accommodations had everything we needed and the bus took you from the rails basically to the doorsteps of the place. Would stay there again.

Fabulous home in this Swiss Alps
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Diane's home in Lauterbrunnen. One of our nicest stays in any VRBO we've ever stayed in. Totally as advertised! The pictures on the VRBO website do not do the place justice. Her place was very easy to find and everything was so clean and neat The kitchen had numerous spices and accouterments in it, including coffee for the coffee maker. Diane was most accommodating. If we ever go to Lauterbrunnen again, we will stay there. Thank you Diane for making our stay so fabulous! Steven and Cindy

Beautiful Lauterbrunnen
The home was very clean and had everything we needed. Our family of 6 slept comfortably there. The location is amazing, you just can’t beat the view from the deck. One of the most beautiful places in the world. Our teenagers loved it!

Excellent place to stay while in Switzerland
This property was phenomenal with an exceptional view that was hard to leave. The location is great and makes getting to lots of tours and sites around the area very easy. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Switzerland and looking for a peaceful location with postcard-like views.

Wonderful stay in Lauterbrunnen
We absolutely loved our stay at Diane’s place. The bus stop is a two minute walk to the main road which gives you access to the whole valley. The accommodations were great, everything we could have ever wanted. I recommend this place!

The property was exactly as described! Situated in Lauterbrunnen Valley with stunning views and a bonus of delightful goats next door to entertain us each morninq! The property was clean and the host left a very detailed book with instructions to help our stay go smoothly. The host provided detailed check in directions and her contact info and was responsive to our one question. The property was 1 minute away from the public bus stop and the valley walking trail and about a 5 minute walk from a great restaurant! We were a group of 3 adult couples and it was perfect!

Superb apartment in a superb location
We (4 adults and 2 kids) stayed during January. We found the apartment to be spacious, very well equipped and beautifully appointed. The apartment benefits from being very close to the centre of Lauterbrunnen but at the same time has stunning open views of the valley. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful experience!!
Location, location location!!! Youd be hard pressed to find as nice an apartment in such an amazing location! The apartment has everything you need. The kitchen was well supplied, beds and pillows were comfortable and many amenities were provided. The best part however was the balcony. The location gives you a full unobstructed view of the Lauterbrunnen valley with all of its waterfalls, cows, goats and mountains. We were there for 5 nights and it was so hard to leave. The hiking trails and bus stop are right out your door. We walked to town most days. I would come back again and recommend it to my friends !!

Stunning view from the porch with comfortable outdoor furniture was the setting for our Happy Hour celebrations. The home is lovely, comfortable and well- appointed. Diane was always helpful and even warned us about a marathon in town that could have caused transportation or access issues. Close to all Berner Oberland sites. Perfect!

Wow! What a stunningly beautiful location!
What an amazing property! Location is fantastic (Very close to the town) with buses, and train station close by (Walking distance) The view from your balcony is out of this world! Premier Host, Premier Apt, Premier location
We were in town for our first visit to Switzerland and this was the perfect choice for our group of 4 including a 5 year old. The host Diane was always prompt with communications in answering any questions as well as working with us on a change on the stay dates. Diane was rated a Premier Host on the listing and she proved to us why she carries that rating. The property was exactly as described and the perfect location (incredible view right next to the waterfalls), wonderful condition (cleanliness, nice furniture, location - within 20 minute walk to the end of town, etc.) of the apartment made our stay an amazing memory. Highly recommend this property if staying in the Lauderbrunnen area.

Shhh, let's keep this place a secret!
It would be very hard to beat this amazing rental in an amazing location in an amazing little corner of Switzerland. It's very comfortable, modern, has plenty of space and everything you need, but nothing compares to the spectacular uninterrupted view up the valley from the balcony. That's the no. 1 reason to stay here! Aside from that benefit, we really liked the location being on the fringes of the village, away from the crowds a little bit, but also right on the footpath that takes you there in a few minutes. We did have a query to the owner during our week (looking for another set of linens), and she was very quick and helpful in getting back to me.

Super Stay
Four friends stayed in Diane’s rental for four nights in April. We arrived late the first night and were all anxious for the sun to come up so we could finally see this view in person! Well, it is spectacular! The pictures do not do it justice! The apartment was very clean and well appointed. One of my favorite things was the supply of games and cards for those nights after you are finished sightseeing. The location is right off the schectelberg bus stop and easy access to the village, either walking or by bus. Communication with Diane, either by message or by phone, was prompt. I will recommend our sweet apartment everytime I have the opportunity, and hope to stay again one day!

Perfection!
Diane's chalet was absolutely amazing, truely without any fault. We were a family group of 7 (4 adults and 3 children), there was plenty of space for all of us. Everything was spotlessly clean, beds and pillows were all comfy, plenty of storage space. There was nothing missing, kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and much more. Plenty of cooking basics like oil, herbs, tea, coffee etc. Lauterbrunnen and the surrounding area is absolutely stunning, so much to see and do. Diane's chalet has uninterrupted views down the valley. The pictures on the listing are amazing but even better for real! The location is perfect, just a short scenic route into Lauterbrunnen where you can access railways and cable car, there is also a bus stop very close but we always chose to walk. Parking was easy and there was also a garage. We all had an amazing holiday and would love to stay in Diane's chalet again.

Great Place to Stay in Interlaken Area
We loved our time in Lauterbrunnen! And we appreciated the quieter side of things as compared to some of the other nearby towns. This property is excellent and as described - the apartment was very clean and comfortable. Our teenagers enjoyed having their own rooms, everything was well-appointed, and the view out the kitchen/living room/deck is spectular. There is right-out-your door access to trails for hiking, running, and exploring. We arrived via train and found no need to have a car while there. The Imboden bike shop in downtown Lauterbrunnen was great for bike rentals. This apartment is just past a large campground, and we found the campground store and restaurant to be helpful resources when we didn't want to walk a little further to get to the coop and restaurants in town. The fresh baked rolls at the camp store became our go-to breakfast for the week. Communications with Diane were prompt and check in/out was easy. Overall, a great place to stay - we hope to return in summer again, or in winter for skiing. Thank you, Diane!

Beautiful Apartment in the Valley of the Waterfalls
The property is just stunning on every level. Great location on the edge of Lauterbrunnen with the most spectacular views. It is around a 20 minute pleasant walk in to the Town or a short bus ride, with the bus stop 2 mins from the property. The property is very well equipped and a true home from home, beautiful comfortable furniture, the kitchen and breakfast bar is just great and the dining and balcony offer you so many different options to relax and dine. For the evenings we were at the apartment the TV had a great selection of international channels, for all to enjoy. Great for families to enjoy time together or couple of have a quiet retreat. Our host Diane was wonderful and easily contactable, giving great advice and guidance on the local area's and beyond. The Jungfrau Camp site is located about a 5 minute walk away, with a lovely friendly bar and shops. Very peaceful at night and offers true rest after a busy day walking in the mountains. A little gem we did find was Spa Day at the Hotel Eiger in Murren for 34CHF per person. So we had a day off walking and just watched the mountains and views from the pool. We had a fabulous stay and will hopefully visit again in the future.

Amazing Stay at Chalet Black
The pictures don't fully do this lovely place justice! It is truly a beautiful and peaceful place. First, the chalet is very well equipped and is in GREAT condition! For example, Diane even has 3 coffee makers to suit everyone's taste. Even though there were only 2 of us, there is plenty of room for 6+. But the best part is the location and the view! To wake up every morning and look into the valley and the snow-covered peaks of the alps is glorious. Outside of your balcony are sheep and cows wearing cowbells. The chalet is within walking distance of the train station (and shopping and restaurants) in Lauterbrunnen which can take you to the great places to visit... Schilthorn, Jungfraujoch, Grindlewald, etc. In the front of the chalet is a terrific walk into the valley to view dozens of waterfalls. Very convenient also is the Jungfrau Camping area which has a very good restaurant which is very reasonably priced. And if you need last minute grocery items, there's a small grocery store there, too. All in all, this is a wonderful rental... great beauty, good value and a beautiful, relaxing stay.

July 2023 Week in Lauterbrunnen
This is a spacious, modern, beautifully furnished, and impeccably clean 3BR apartment with tasteful decor and an absolutely breathtaking view down the Lauterbrunnen Valley! The kitchen was well-equipped and offered everything we needed to have leisurely breakfasts in the morning and cook the occasional dinner on evenings when were not dining out. The house rules/instruction booklet was excellent, giving us instructions on all important matters relating to our stay (WiFi, TV, laundry, hot water, trash disposal, etc.). We also greatly appreciated the organized file folder with brochures, maps, and trail guides for the surrounding area. The apartment is centrally located and a great base from which to explore surrounding towns and attractions, including Muerren, Gimmelwald, Allmenhubel, Wengen, Grindelwald, Grütschalp, Stechelberg, and the Thunersee. It's also close to the base station for the Schilthorn cable car. Our day trip to the Schilthorn was truly a highlight of our visit! The scenery on the way up to the summit and from the revolving Piz Gloria restaurant with 360 degree views on a sunny clear day were spectacular! Diane is a wonderful host who communicated with us before our arrival and answered any questions we had. We would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a base to explore the magnificent Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Berner Oberland. It was an unforgettable week for our family!

Fine comfort with a view ... and what a view.
Our experience at Chez Black was fabulous. We were a group of two couples and had more than adequate space for sleeping, preparing meals and relaxing. Perfectly located in the Lauterbrunnen Valley with exceptional views of the Alps. The pictures that, our host, Diane Black has on her listing do not do the view justice. I don't think any photograph can. We have stayed in a lot of VRBO and other rentals, and this ranks among the best for pure comfort and convenience. A fully stocked kitchen with more than adequate cookware, plates, glasses, flatware, spices and seasonings, aluminum foil, plastic bags, etc. I most especially appreciate the sharp knives for food prep (there were plenty along with a knife sharpener) and the (N)espresso machine. Diane provides a good supply of capsules, but if everyone drinks espresso, and you want only (N)espresso capsules, I suggest you bring some from home. (N)espresso compatible capsules are available at the grocery store in Lauterbrunnen and the various stores down the valley in Interlaken. Diane provides excellent instruction on finding and entering Chateau Black. If you lack a car, the rail and bus service to and in the valley are excellent and run with Swiss precision. The Schützenbach bus stop is literally a 2 minute walk from the front door. Diane also provides a complete instruction manual for the chateau along with suggestions for things to do. If the idea of board games interest your group, there are plenty. Children's games, books of all interests (most in English), to fill a cold night. Finally, Bose sound stations and a large flatscreen TV with a steaming service round out the in-house entertainment options. All that said, it is the physical beauty of the valley that attracts. And this is the best place to experience it. We will return again.

Amazing apartment and beautiful location!
Best apartment in the area! Stunning views surrounded by amazing waterfalls, breathtaking mountains and gorgeous goats. Apartment was very spacious, clean, had some thoughtful touches and had all the things you need. It looks better when you are there. Host was attentive, friendly and very helpful. We had a slight issue with the key safe but it was resolved in speedy time. Definitely would recommend. 5* slight
