Unfortunately there is no green outdoor space as it's built on the gravel driveway entrance to the owners house, close to the local urban road and a main road. "Absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed our time at Chateau de Candes. Bertrand and Sam went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. "We stayed here for two weeks in August 2024. Upon arrival we were greeted by Jean and his wife. Shown facilities were as stated and excellent. Gitè was clean and tidy and well equipped. Wonderful hosts loved it!"

"the bed was a sofa bed although the mattress was ok every time we moved it made load squeaking noise the large entrance gates were attached to our outside wall so every time they were used it felt like the wall was moving and a very loud banging noise some gest returned after midnight some left early about 6 Am the location we good, only a short walk to the restaurants, and near the steps to the chateaux there was free parking in the street"

"The first night we stayed we would award top marks, but on or return 4 days later the second room was not as good. It was not as clean, the shower screen support was loose, the tv was hanging and not working properly. The furniture on the terrace was very dirty, we cleaned it before we could sit down. We were served a meal in our room, but thought that the dirty dishes would be removed, but they remained until we signed out"

"Hotel Ibis is convenient for those travelling to Saumur by train-- property is literally right across street from station. Friendly service ( I can speak a bit of French; they could speak some English so all good for check-in, etc! Also.one staffer who was fully bilingual.). Good breakfast in pleasant dining area. Also a cozy bar and in nice weather a courtyard. There is a v.good Italian restaurant next door, and cafe 2 blocks away. You will want to go into Saumur Centre-- a 15 minute walk over 2 bridges. Lots to explore and many eating choices there. "
