"The property was absolutely perfect for our needs. Lots of first class bedrooms and ensuites. large clean kitchen and dining table made entertaining easy. Bar area was great too. Classy restaurant next door serves excellent food and the wine list is brilliant."

"We stayed here as a group of 11 friends for a cycling trip. The property was perfect and met all of our needs in every way. Great communication with the host ensured a really smooth and stress free visit. Thanks"

"Very strange "kitchen" with a stove put on top of what was a bar and is extremely high. No extraction hood so its mpossible to cook. Bathroom without window or extraction fan. Constant noise right outside the door. The ad says the owner speaks French and English but they don't speak a word of English. We did not see the super well equipped place mentioned in other reviews. We do not recommend this place."

"Fantastic stay. I was celebrating with 13 other friends. The house was perfect for us, lovely hot tub and games area, kitchen facilities were well maintained with plenty of fridge space. The rooms were very clean on arrival and just as expected. Geert was very accomodating. Taxis for all of us into Ghent would have been €240 however a 30 min walk to the loc train station saved us a lot of money. "

We were lucky enough to have beautiful summer weather and enjoyed sitting out early morning and late afternoon in the quiet garden listening to the birds chirping. The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen and two bathrooms and showers (one upstairs and one downstairs). The stairs to the bedrooms are a bit steep and may be challenging for an older person. "I'm vacating my apartment in mons so have been staying at a number of local hotels. Stayed in room 113 for a week. My only negative is no aircon which would be a nightmare in the summer, they do supply a big noisy fan. Perhaps B&B who are new owners will install aircon? Other than that it was an excellent stay, free coffee downstairs 24/7 and a room with a bath. We didn't bother with breakfast as plenty of shops/cafes in Mons. Very comfortable bed, i slept very well. Would recommend the B&B...

"A great stay of 5 nights with family at the heart of Brussels. Very clean rooms, bathrooms and corridors. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Hot water was free from coffee machines which was needed for our daughter. The bathroom light's censor was little annoying as it turns off every 5 seconds, so you will have to keep shaking your body or waving at the censor to keep the light on. But thats just a small part which you can ignore. Very happy with the stay and experience. Thats a great budget option. Highly recommended."

"Have stayed in a number of Mons hotels whilst i vacated my apartment in the town. This included 2 stays at the van der valk during October 2024. This time in room 103 for a week, nice big clean room, shower only. Very convenient for getting to my apartment and into the centre of town. Didn't use parking or breakfast. IKEA is 10 mins walk away and do a hot breakfast for a few euros. Also 10 mins walk to cafes etc. Van der Valk is easily best hotel in Mons, happy to recommend "

"I'm vacating my apartment in mons so have been staying at a number of local hotels. Stayed in room 113 for a week. My only negative is no aircon which would be a nightmare in the summer, they do supply a big noisy fan. Perhaps B&B who are new owners will install aircon? Other than that it was an excellent stay, free coffee downstairs 24/7 and a room with a bath. We didn't bother with breakfast as plenty of shops/cafes in Mons. Very comfortable bed, i slept very well. Would recommend the B&B centre mons (ex lido). There is a launderette just up the street, open 24/7, tokens on sale for machines inside"

"I'm currently preparing to vacate my apartment in Mons after a few years working in Belgium. Stayed Saturday night at the B&B Mons Gare room 207. The young man on reception was incredibly helpful, Joffrey. Our room was very large with a bath. There were a couple of wedding parties in but we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was fine with some hot options for us Brits. I never used the hotel when it was run by IBIS but would recommend. We didn't have a car but the car park looked easy to use. Not in the best part of Mons but we know the area well."
