Check out her own new website with a video!

Outside there is a wooden wind-shielded deck, dining furniture & BBQ - perfect for quiet al fresco dining with a picturesque view. It is very close to Letterfrack village, (shops, pubs & restaurants), Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, Clifden & Cleggan.

This delightful new cottage is cheerful and bright - just like its owner who, along with her sister, is a well-known traditional Irish fiddle player. Children are warmly welcome here. A baby's cot is available on request. The front garden is a large and safe area for kids to play in. This is a strictly non-smoking property.

Baunoges Cottage is situated in a foodie's paradise with the award winning Renvyle House Hotel a mere 10 minutes away by car. If you feel like walking, the Rosleague Manor Hotel is only a five minute trek from the cottage. The village of Letterfrack is 1.5 miles from the cottage and has shops, pubs, and restaurants. The Avoca Handcrafts shop is half a mile from the cottage with a great variety of clothes, handcrafts, books, cds and kitchenware. Kylemore Abbey is less than ten minutes drive with beautiful landscaped gardens, and pretty walks around the abbey and its lakes. Killary Harbour and Leenane is a little further towards Westport. It is eight miles from Clifden, the capital of Connemara - a great place to go for food and to listen to some traditional Irish music. You can always take the Sky Road Drive out of Clifden, with its breathtaking views across to Slyne Head, Ballyconeely and Errislannon. Inishbofin is a day trip and reachable by a ferry that leaves Cleggan every morning and evening - give yourself 20 minutes to get there as the roads can be busy during the summer. There are many fine sandy beaches in the area - just ask and I'll be happy to direct you to a few hidden gems. At the right time of the year, you can also walk the shore and collect cockles & mussels - a lovely meal in itself. Connemara National Park is practically on the doorstep, with a variety of walks to suit everyone and an excellent playground for kids of all ages! There is also a lovely tea room with a visitors centre open daily.Check out the new video on her website which will give you a much better insight into Red Deer Cottage!

Great getway
We had a lovely time in Red Deer Cottage, perfect for relaxing and spending time away from the hassle of workday life. A truly comfortable and welcoming house, great architecture and interior design, amazing kitchen equipment for fancy cooking on (really) rainy days, all-you-can-wish-for media/TV/streaming euipment.

First class cottage in a great location
We were welcomed to the property by Liz with typical Irish warmth - the property did not disappoint, clean, well presented and well appointed. A great location to discover Connemara. Spent time seeing the country, and enjoying the hospitality that Clifden had to offer - good food and music. Would have no hesitation recommending the property to family and friends - Thank you Liz

A Perfect Stay in Connemara
We stayed at Liz's superb cottage near Letterfrack. The cottage is very modern, clean and well equipped. There was plenty of room for the 6 of us to be comfortable and have space for our privacy when required. The children loved spending time in the den, listening to music and playing games. We visited lots of places in Connemara, but didn't have to travel far because the cottage is well located for touring. It is in a peaceful, relaxing location, yet is only 2-3 minutes drive from Letterfrack, where there is a well stocked shop and the Connemara Bread Basket is an excellent Bakery and Restaurant. The Inishbofin Ferry is approx 15 minute drive away and provided us with a enjoyable day out. Further afield, we visited Galway and went to Ballinrobe Races for a good evening's entertainment. The Connemara Smoke House, Kylemore Abbey, Diamond Mountain and the National Park visitor centre are all local attractions worth visiting. There are some beautiful beaches within a few miles that are great for finding shells, rock-pooling and swimming. We always looked forward to returning to the cottage in the evenings, which had every home comfort including Sky TV and WIFI. Thanks for a great holiday Liz, we would love to return to your cottage for another enjoyable week. The Elliott's and Thompson's August 2012

Lovely stay
Lovely stay at Red Deer Cottage. This is our second stay here and some welcome improvements have been made. Swings/slide are fantastic for entertaining little ones. Kitchen has absolutely everything you need for all sorts of cooking. Nice clean white crisp linen on all beds. Comfortable house to relax and wind down. Location is great to get all around Renvyle peninsula, Clifden, Cleggan, Inagh valley. Only improvement suggestion would be for heavier curtains or black out blinds on front bedrooms. Rooms very bright once sun came up. Enjoyed our stay and no hesitation recommending for families or travelling groups.

Precious Family Time
Liz has a beautiful, clean, well cared for house with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Waking up each morning with fantastic views was a pure pleasure and snuggling up each night at the fire was everything my family needed for a nurturing, relaxing stay. We enjoyed every minute.

Schönes gemütliches Haus in Connemara

Spacious, charming and well-equipped cottage
If you want to get away from it all and still have all the comfort of a lovely 4-bedroom house, this fantastic cottage is a must in Connemara. It is well-maintained, clean and has a superb nature location, surrounded by meadows with a fantastic view of a lake. The energy of the place is so well-coming that you feel immediately at home. Liz, the owner answered all our questions patiently and provided a special mattress to sooth my back problems. We are very grateful for all the help we received. We can wholeheartedly recommend this property to a friend or family member. If we go back to Connemara, we would definitly stay again at Red Deer Cottage.

Serendipity!
Red Deer Cottage is a gem. Snuggled down a quiet, winding lane, it is surrounded by lush vegetation and rolling, wooded pasture. From every aspect there are delightful views of striking hillsides and of Barnaderg Bay with its glorious sunsets. All the rooms in this spacious cottage are tastefully furnished and filled with light. The well equipped kitchen includes a lovely eating area, the bathrooms are stylish and the beds - oh, so comfy! There are hints throughout that the house is cherished and often filled with music. Perhaps this is why Red Deer Cottage really does feel like a home.

Wonderful cottage in a peaceful location
The cottage is very well equipped and fitted to a very high standard. It has lovely views (aided by what is almost a wall of windows) and is laid out in a cozy but also airy open plan living area and traditional bedroom design. The beds were very comfortable and the place was spotlessly clean. The cottage is situated on a private driveway and although there are other houses and cottages nearby, it is not overlooked. Therefore it is a great balance of peace without being too isolated. Good shopping is only a short drive away in either Cliffden or Letterfrack and the hills and beaches are close at hand and easy to access. I would thoroughly recommend Red Deer Cottage and the area in general. Thanks for a great holiday, Liz.

Gem in Connemara
Red Deer Cottage provides superb accommodation in a convenient location close to shops and attractions in Letterfrack village and Clifden. There are wonderful walks from the cottage and the national park is nearby. The cottage itself is exceptionally well-appointed with all modern conveniences and a lovely ambience. The owner, Liz, was very welcoming and assisted us during our stay. We would certainly recommend Red Deer Cottage if you are considering a stay in beautiful Connemara.

Lovely cottage
We stayed here for one week during October half term, with our three children, and really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is in a beautiful location, which is very private, located just outside Letterfrack village, and very close to Connemara National Park. We really liked this, as it meant we had a really relaxing stay, but could easily take a 5 minute drive into the village to visit the local shop or one of the pubs. The house is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, which has a huge amount of cooking utensils and crockery, and a really nice range cooker. We also made good use of the WiFi and Sky TV, which kept our teenager happy! The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The mezzanine is a nice feature too, as I enjoyed listening to music there if the kids were watching TV, and the kids liked it as a different place to play and relax. The great location is very close to the 'Wild Atlantic Way' too, so the cottage was a great base for exploring the coastline, and for visiting Clifden or Kylemore Abbey. We really enjoyed our stay, and would definitely recommend this cottage, and this wonderful area.

Great cottage in breathtaking connemara area
Despite the bad weather we had an excellent stay in the Red Deer Cottage. the property is very spacious, clean, and very well equipped. It has everything you need. The furniture is also very nice and clean, and the beds are great as well. Everytime we came back from a daytrip it really felt like coming home. We were only with the two of us, but because of its size the house is also ideal for an entire family, or even two. The house is located in Letterfrack, right next to the entrance of the Connemara national park, and on the Connemara loop, which is an amazing route you should definitely follow to discover the area. We've been to different parts of Ireland before, and for us, this is the most beautiful part of the country we've seen so far. Liz, the owner, is very friendly and helpful and responded to all our inquiries very switfly. The only improvement we can think of is to place some furniture in the wind-shielded deck in the garden. Next time we go back to Ireland, we will definitely come back to the Red Deer Cottage, if it's available.

Loved our stay at Red Deer and would love to have stayed longer in this beautiful house during perfect weather. We really couldn't have wished for better!!! Good comfortable beds, excellent showers and all amenities were to hand in the kitchen. The only things we could not find were egg-cups.......but we coped! Sincere thanks Liz, we hope to be back very soon!!

Extremely comfortable and in a beautiful location
Red Deer Cottage is very comfortable and well laid out inside. It is quite spacious but at the same time cosy with a combined kitchen and dining area that runs into the living area with a peat / log burning stove. There is central heating for the colder months and French windows onto the patio for warmer months. There is an upper living room which is partly open to the lower living area and a large upstairs bedroom with en suite and views from the velux windows over the surrounding land and to the sea. The lower living area has numerous windows to afford an excellent view of the woodland and further into the distance, the sea and coastline. It really has a nice open feel without being exposed. The bedrooms have excellent supportive beds (something lacking in many Scottish holiday houses I'm used to) and one of the lower bedrooms also has another en suite. The bathroom is roomy and has a great long bath and powerful shower. The cottage was very clean and the kitchen well equipped. There is satellite TV for the wetter or colder days (of which I thankfully had none, even in April!). The cottage is peacefully located without feeling isolated as there are some other houses in the surrounding area but these are generally screened from view by the trees and bushes. For shopping there is Letterfrack about 2 mins drive away and Clifden about 12 mins drive away. Clifden has plenty of supermarket shopping and local stores. Letterfrack also has bars and places to eat but is better suited to convenience shopping rather than a big family shop but still has a good selection of stuff. The house is just a few hundred metres from the edge of the Connemara National Park and there are beaches within about 15 minutes drive as well as plenty of places of historical interest, boat trips to islands and fishing, both in the sea and for trout. Liz was very helpful with any questions I had and everyone I met who lived round about were very friendly and welcoming. I spent two weeks at the cottage and was very sad to leave. I would thoroughly recommend the house to anyone seeking comfort and peace with the convenience of not having to drive for miles for shopping, walking, beaches and other activities. I just hope I can make it back one day with the rest of my family.

Beyond excellent!
The cottage is stunningly beautify, so well equipt and beautifully kitted out. It was clean and had lots of creature comforts like your own home. The wood burner was excellent but instructions for the novice woud have been helpful. This part of Ireland was also so beautiful we feel so lucky to have been able to stay in Red Deer Cottage

Well-appointed, spacious, excellent location.
A really lovely house with many original features, which was ideal for us spending part of our holiday with our daughter's family: the oldies had the upstairs bedroom and en suite, with its own lounge, and the younger family had the almost self-contained part at the end of the corridor downstairs, with their own en suits as well as the family bathroom. All the fittings are of great quality, and worked well, including the free WiFi. Being a late season trip, although we had wonderful weather, we were glad of the turf (peat) fire in the main sitting room which took the chill off the main part of the house without using the rather costly central heating. Liz was always readily contactable by phone. SMS or e-mail, and kept in touch to see how things were going and sort out any queries etc. Paying for the electricity separately seems unnecessary and we personally would rather see it included in the property rental, and I could see winter heating being expensive. I would thoroughly recommend this property to friends or family. Its location would be hard to beat - only about 15 minutes' drive from charming Clifden and all its shops, bars and restaurants, but also easy of access to the Cleggan and Renvyle peninsulas, the boat to Inishbofin, Letterfrack and the local high quality supermarket, and trips further north to Leenaun and Killary Harbour. We loved Glassilaun beach, and the walk over to Omey Island from beyond Cleggan, as well as our trip to Inishbofin. In the other direction, the bog road and Roundstone and Dog's Bay are well worth visiting. In terms of location, the house is very quiet, being far enough off the main road for there to be no noise or awareness of it at all. It's only about 2 minutes from the road, though, so getting places by car or cycle is dead easy. Walking from the house, however, would really be limited to walking up the hill road, as the main Letterfrack-Clifden road and the way down to the shore etc. is very twisty and really a bit dangerous for walking. We walked a LOT during our two weeks, but always drove somewhere to do so. That said, for us the quiet country location with easy road access seemed preferable to perhaps a more direct peninsula-beach position, such as around Cleggan or on the Renvyle, where you are not so central. We were fortunate to be there during the amazing Clifden Arts Festival and went to several events, thoroughly enjoying learning more about local culture, art and history. A brilliant holiday.
