Northern Bliss Cabin near Wilderness State Park & Mackinaw

Northern Bliss cabin is in the middle of the nowhere, but close to everything. This is right on the southern boundary of Wilderness State Park. This nearby park offers miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, hiking trails and thousands of acres of unspoiled wilderness to explore.
It's only about 15 miles to Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island ferries for plenty of fun activities, dining options and shopping. It's also only 3 miles to Sturgeon Bay to enjoy some of the best scenic dunes and sandy beaches on Lake Michigan.

There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, one with a queen sized bed and one with two twin beds. The kitchen offers plenty of room for preparing meals and the dining area has seating for 4. Clean linens and towels are provided at check-in. We recommend bringing your own beach towels and blanket if you'll be enjoying a day at the beach.

The cabin is on a private road with a 10 acre lot in the northern hardwoods. It offers modern amenities including high speed wi-fi internet, streaming tv, a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, and full bathroom. There is a cozy wood burning stove inside, charcoal and gas grill, and a fire pit out back to enjoy an evening campfire under the stars. An outdoor cedar sauna was recently installed right off of the back deck. It's a perfect place to relax and warm up on a cool night after a fun day in Northern MI.

Less than 5 miles away is McGulpin Point Lighthouse and the Headlands International Dark Sky Park- a property recent designated as one of only six International Dark Sky parks in the nation -- making it a bastion for stargazers.

Bring your kayaks or canoe to explore O'Neal Lake. Access to this small wilderness lake is only a mile from the cabin. There are no homes on this lake, just an abundance of wildlife including bald eagles, osprey, loons, hawks & more.

Please let us know if you have any questions. We hope to see you soon. Thank you!

August vacation
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin for our August mini-vacation. We were close to Mackinaw City, which was our main destination. We also visited the dunes at Wilderness State Park to view the sunset, and a short visit to Cheboygan. The cabin was very neat, clean and was a perfect, quiet location for our stay. We also appreciated that the cabin was pet-friendly.

The area was quiet and peaceful. The cabin was very clean and had all of the necessities plus some extras like a sauna and fire pit. We really appreciated that it was dog friendly and our dog appreciated it too. It was close to Mackinaw City, beaches and state parks. We would visit again and recommend it to others.

Cozy cabin in the woods.
The cabin is so cozy as well as clean and well equipped. We also enjoyed having campfires in the backyard. We were a comfortable driving distance from the ferry to Mackinac Island, beaches, Headlands International Dark Sky, MacGulpin Lighthouse and shopping at Mackinaw City. Mike is a great host, available if we needed something. We would highly recommend a stay at this cabin.

Perfect wilderness get away!
The cabin was just right, well stocked with everything we needed, but remote enough to be peaceful. We enjoyed Wilderness state park, and the 2-mile drive to the lake for sunsets. The town of Levering was perfect for diner breakfasts on Paradise Lake, and all the Michigan necessities like firewood, smoked fish, and pasties. Easy drive to Petosky and Mackinaw City. Very easy-to-work with host!

Great location to start exploring
Peaceful, cozy, well kept cabin in the woods that's the perfect jumping off spot to start exploring the surrounding area. So close of a drive to beautiful Sturgeon Bay Beach, we went for a swim every evening we were there. We hope to return one day!

Really wonderful!
My husband and I both fell in love with this little cabin. Clean, comfortable and cozy. It was the perfect location for us. My daughter was having her wedding ceremony at the Wilderness State Park and it was easy to go back and forth. Hope to have the chance to go back sometime.

Perfect Northern Michigan Experience
This cabin was the perfect getaway. Remotely located yet close to everything. So peaceful, we slept with the windows open and just listened to nature. Our pup slept good too, and really liked the dog beach at the State Park that is just a few miles down the road. The Sauna is an added bonus. We used it every night to relax after the days activities. Headlands International Dark Sky Park is close by too, and great for star gazing. We would definitely stay here again.

Cabin in the woods
We chose Mikes cabin for the proximity of the areas we wanted to explore: Mackinac Island, the town of petit sky and the tunnel of trees. Wanted to explore the wilderness Park but the black flies and mosquitoes were horrible so skipped that. We enjoyed the international dark sky park and all the stars! Mikes welcome gift of local snacks were a nice treat!

Relaxing wooded cabin
What a great little cabin in the woods! There are neighbors nearby, but the cabin is secluded and you can hardly see the closest neighbor's property through the trees. Easy communication and quick response time from the host. My only "dislike" was that the cabin is farther than I thought from Headlands Dark Sky Park (about a 25 min drive), but that's on me for not fully checking the map prior to booking. It was still close and we had a great time! I highly recommend!

Sister getaway
This place was cozy and cute. Convenient to local attractions but yet away from city life. Towels were very small, no mirror other than the small one in the bathroom. Decor was inviting. Outside fire pit and sauna were great. This is cabin seems more accommodating for a men’s getaway or a hunter lodge. My sister and I made the most of it. We were happy staying here. The gift package owners left was a welcoming surprise
