Had a nice two night stay, everything went well, staff good, especially the very helpful lady on reception. The area is a bit of a quiet gem, with loads of quiet roads to explore and a quaint village in walking distance. The nearby Laredo was good too, and just a short drive. Highly recommended.

Great imposing historical hotel

Great hotel in historical building and dominating location. Really nice reception staff and bar and restaurant staff were even better. As residents we were able to access some of the restricted spaces

Well located for Santander Ferry

A very friendly welcome greeted us when we arrived at this hotel. As with all paradors cleanliness, service and comfort was excellent. Great for an overnight before catching the ferry in Santander.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Room was more like a suite! We stayed half board which we would recommend as there are not many other places to eat in the area. The food was delicious so glad we booked half board. We visited Santoña (anchovy capital of the world ) and Laredo, both close by, which were well worth the visit. Lovely, unspoilt area of northern Spain.

The little Spanish gem

The weather was amazing and the location was excellent, The room was out of this world we were lucky enough to get an end room and it was massive. the staff could not do enough for you and they would leave little treats for you. We will most definitely be staying there again.

Disappointing. Amazing looking but staff attitude.

Reception staff very good. Bar lady lovely and very busy with other tasks. Waiting on and dining was poor. Wrong food, some not cooked (cold in the middle chicken) tasted ‘off’ 2 chaps waiting on didn’t appear to want to serve us. Nice young lady came along and agreed the chicken wasn’t cooked. We were asked about the food - I said awful Rooms very noisy and you could hear from other rooms

Très bon séjour

Séjour de 2 nuits. Très bon restaurant. Accès très difficile, pour personne ayant quelques difficultés pour se déplacer, si on se gare sur le parking gratuit. Le garage sous l'hôtel avec ascenseur (15 € la nuit) est, dans ce cas là, conseillé.

The consistent quality found in other Paradores, in a very nice setting. We stayed here planning to visit Bilbao, but it was a little too far from that.
