"Awesome property! Beautiful grounds. Staff is excellent, courteous and helpful. Onsite owners are a breath of fresh air. Food is high quality and delicious. Have stayed 2 years in a row and will return. The rooms are large and accommodating with private balcony overlooking the gorgeous pool and striking green scenery. "The hotel is a good place to stay as its near the strip and close to all amenities and the beach. However, the cleaners need to be retrained to clean properly. The sink was dirty, and needed a good scrub and not just a wipe down. We had to ask for soap when it was clear to see it needed replacing. Alot of people complained about the cleanliness of the place. The stairs handle should be wiped down as it was full of dust and spoilt the place. There are too many old men with young girls and...

"We stayed on the last day of the season and were the only guests. Omar met us and there was also a cook and cleaning lady Adele who were very friendly and helpful. Due to an error by Hotels.com not knowing the lodge had new owners our payment had been sent to the previous owners - we are taking this up with Hotels.com as phone number also wrong but given new owners phone numbers. However as no internet at the lodge we could not cancel our booking to get our refund so this is having to be...

Best place to stay in the Gambia

"My brother and I really enjoyed our stay at Faith and Grace Guest house. It is located in an incredible and safe village where you have some great adventures and meet the locals. The compound is neat and clean. Everyone is so friendly. Everything was just as we wished for during our stay. The staff are wonderful! Special mention to the best chef in the whole of the Gambia and Sierra Leone - Regina!! She is very attentive and will make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. She also makes sure the restaurant is clean, tidy, and runs smoothly. Sadio and Omar are also some of the nicest men you will meet. They waited for us at the airport even though our flight arrived later than scheduled and took us to the guest house. They will also make sure your stay is comfortable and are happy to put you in contact with local people that you can go on trips with. I hope one day I will return here and I can highly recommend others to stay here whilst in the Gambia. You will not be disappointed! Thank you very much once again, guys! So glad to have met you all! "

"We liked the quiet tranquility most of the time though occasionally noisy with officials having parties. The staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly. We liked the room with private outside area. We liked the infinity pool. We were surprised that there was a poor selection of fruit available at breakfast but otherwise it was a good spread. We were impressed with our spa experience and felt totally relaxed afterwards. The green taxi drivers’outside were very friendly and reasonable priced too and took us to Sengambia strip for the evenings for around £4 return. Overall a fantastic relaxed holiday. "

"A lovely hotel which as a solo traveller I felt safe and comfortable in. The staff are so lovely - friendly, helpful and attentive. Very well located in Senegambia and I was able to walk to places around there easy. Clean room and facilities which made my stay comfortable. "

"Great time, from check-in, to kitchen staff, to cleaners, to entertainment, great value and lovely staff. Really enjoyed our time. Recommend the premier room pool view!! Closeness to beach is so ideal too, great for relaxation or a stroll to enjoy the sunset. Nice walk 15 min walk to Tropics Mall and shout out Vibrations cafe for a healthy vegan option outside of the great food provided at Balafon. Would definitely come again. "
