"I will admit that i knew this property had no air conditioning. But, booking for the middle of September, I thought that we would be comfortable at night with open windows. HOWEVER, the street noise is very loud and goes all night!! You cannot sleep with the windows open. Save yourself some misery and restless sleep. The apartment is very cute and in a good location and this problem could be easily resolved for the future by adding some air conditioning!"

"Really nice place, great view. Massive hill to climb. No Ubers, and near impossible to get a taxi. We couldn’t get one until day 3. Unless you rent a car don’t book this place. Getting to and from town and the ferry with luggage is a nightmare without a car. Walking on your own is ok, but takes time and you need to be in shape. "

"Pro's and cons: Pro's first: good location, a short drive from Luino, a good sized lakeside town. You can take ferries from Luino all round the lake, including to the Borromean islands. You'll have to spend some time aquainting yourself with the ferry timetable and a map of the lake. Nothing much goes on in Dumenza itself. "The place was great. On point to the review online everything in place, clean, lots of free space for big families. Quiet and beautiful view. Amazing owners that helped us a lot in every way we needed. The only downside I think about is the mattress being quite old, older folks with back problems we had a hard time to sleep and wake up. "We are 2 couples and absolutely loved the 2 large bedrooms with a balcony off both right on Lake Como. The office is conveniently right next door to get the keys and there is a great restaurant just a few feet in the other direction. Menaggio is a lovely, quiet town. There is a beautiful walkway along the lake with a surprise mini-golf course at the end! Easy walk to the ferry to get to the other towns, but expect long lines to get back on the ferry in Varenna and pure mayhem in Bellagio!!!...

"All straightforward for fetching key and making our way to the apartment. Instructions were clear even though at times it felt a bit like searching for a mystery destination! From the moment we opened the apartment door any apprehension disappeared. The views are stunning - I will never forget watching the sun rise across the lake, and the apartment itself was spotless and had everything we could possibly need. You definitely need a car as there is little to do in the local area and ferries only...
