Log Home in a Retreat Setting

This 3 bedroom hand-built log home is the perfect place to stay for those seeking a family get-a-way in a beautiful setting or for small groups of friends. The setting is magical and tranquil. The back porch is a comfortable place to relax and watch the hummingbirds feed.

It is situated on 11 acres at a retreat center along with 4 other listings. There is a labyrinth on site, hiking trails, a vortex, and a firepit. It's a great place to stay to go for day trips to vineyards, to go hiking in Morrow Mountain State Park or the Uwharrie National Forest, or kayaking on Falls Reservoir. The night sky is a beautiful backdrop for star gazing since there is no light pollution.

Nice getaway halfway between where my son and I live
Enjoyed a nice weekend with my adult son and my dog Lily at this log cabin that was located halfway between where both of us live. It was a bit rainy, but we were able to enjoy some nice walks outside. We enjoyed cooking together, playing games, and watching movies. We especially enjoyed being able to hang out on the porch, where there was a nice breeze.

Like what I would imagine heaven would be like.
It was so peaceful . In the morning all you hear are birds chirping and at night all you hear are the crickets. I love this place. I’ve been there 2 times now and would highly recommend it. Very clean and Ellen the host is amazing. Great getaway if you need a quiet place to go. Jatana Hendrick

Holiday Stay
We (family of 6) stayed in this property over Christmas and we had a great time. The girls said it was the best Christmas they ever had. Ellen was amazing! She answered my dumb questions all day, every day! Would stay again!

Awesome cabin.
This cabin and the whole property is an awesome place for a family stay. My grandchildren were all fascinated and had a blast exploring. The cabin itself is extremely cozy with plenty of room and comfort. Will definitely be back.

Perfect place to stay with multiple generations
We had a restful stay. Our grandsons thought it was interesting to stay in a log cabin for the 1st time. It was just right for short trail walks. Children were 6,4 and 2 years old. They were excited to see crawfish when they walked along the creek.Beautiful flowers were in bloom. It was a delight to see them. Their Papa enjoyed his morning visits from Murphy the owner's dog. This was so much better than staying at a hotel/motel. Would absolutely stay here again.

Conveniently located quiet rustic stay
Perfectly located property. We attended a wedding at Carolina Country Weddings which was a 15 minute drive away. The cabin had everything we needed. Beautiful setting and wish we had more time to explore. Love that it accommodates dogs. Ellen was very responsive and friendly. Loved spending time with her dog, Murphy, on the porch as well. Would absolutely stay again.

Counting on Mercy Book Club Retreat
What a perfect location to slow down and find peace. We spent hours on the porch watching the hummingbirds, hawk and spectacular rain storm. The host was so responsive and helpful. She graciously shared her blueberry bushes and adorable dog. Albemarle was a quick drive for Mass and dinner. We will be back next year to retreat,, explore the trails and fill our cups! Ellen was the perfect hostess as was Stanley the little terrier who greeted us each morning. Thanksgiving 2020
Overall the cabin was a nice getaway, not fancy but met our needs. Plenty of space both within the house and outside to spread out, having a fire pit nearby was nice. Lack of wifi was a bit of a shock to the younger generation but they could still access their devices so they didn't have to go through total withdrawal. The beds a bit firmer than we're used to but that's just our preference.

Host was great. Didn’t notice when booking that there was NO TV or WIFI, but the listing was not incorrect. I just assumed it would be included everywhere. There was no lock on the door of the house so my girlfriend didn’t feel secure at night. But the property manager was on site next door and assured us it was safe.

It was a very unique house with its own welcoming charm. You are close to other people, but still feel like you're secluded with plenty of privacy. The grounds were fun to explore as well. Definitely worth a visit!
