Laurelwood - Hocking Hills

Enjoy a private wooded setting – from the wrap-around deck, the hot-tub or the wall of windows along the open-concept, vaulted, living area. Queen bedroom on main floor and a queen bed in loft. (Loft is accessed by a ladder – which is fun for some of us, but not recommended for guests with physical limitations or for children.) Full bath; full kitchen (full-size range, full-size refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker); gas fireplace (seasonal) and charcoal grill; and wifi. INCLUDED All of the Chalets include: a scenic setting; outdoor hot-tub; fireplace and grill; kitchen with cooktop, microwave, coffee maker, cooking utensils and tableware; satellite tv with dvd player; bed, bath and kitchen linens with bath soap and dish soap; toilet paper; access to the guest pool; central air conditioning and heat. SITE Laurelwood – Hocking Hills is located off of State Route 664, on the Chalets’ 140-acre campus – just up the hill from the guest pool (open Memorial Day to Labor Day) and Chalets’ front desk. Perfect location for access to all well known sites. 2 small mom and pop stores nearby for any essentials needed. Close access off of freeway but still very quiet. Other cabins nearby closer than I would like, but still private and peaceful. Property is well maintained. The listing specifies 2 bedrooms however one of the rooms is up a fairly steep ladder/open staircase so not ideal for kids or anyone with physical impairments.

Beautiful Deer
This is a cozy cabin in the woods close to Hocking Hills State Park, our destination. It is very clean with all amenities except a hair dryer. We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful part of Ohio and the deer in the yard.

Laurelwood The Chalets
We arrived on August 30 prior to getting into our cabin we had to pick up beer cans from past guests, muddle through the grass that was not mowed for days to walk inside to find it very literal essentials, I’ve stayed at cabins before, and this was the least I have ever seen kind of surprising for Hocking Hills. The bedding was basically a cot with very uncomfortable and very used pillows and comforters. Strong order with the well water which again I understand well water, but this was extremely disgusting and strong. The hot tub you cannot control the temperatures, It was way too hot to get into. The trash was on top of the deck, which made tons of flies and bugs come onto the deck, which made it hard to sit on the deck and enjoy. My dogs found a huge hornets nest in the grass, which they would’ve never seen it because the grass was so high, this could’ve been very bad for my dogs. Good thing we seen it right away so we could keep them away from it! needless to say, I would not stay here again maybe try a different cabin, but if they’re all the same, I think I would have to pass on The Chalets!

For $300/ night I was disappointed
At a minimum I would expect to have a clean shower for $300/night. But I stood in dirty water because the drain did not allow the dirty water to drain out… and the clean water smelled like sewage. No matter the amount of soap I used I was still feeling gross after my shower. The views were great though. The hot tub was not very clean either.

Great Weekend Stay
We booked the Laurelwood for an anniversary trip. It was ready as expected. Great space for the two of us. It was secluded enough were we didn’t see others at the Chalets. But also very close to Old Man’s cave. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a cozy weekend getaway.

Beautiful and clean cabin. We loved the hot tub after our days of hiking. You feel secluded and our dogs had plenty of room to run around. Our daughter enjoyed swimming at the pool which was a walkable distance from this cabin. We would definitely recommend this place and plan to go back in the future.

Amazing Mother and Daughters weekend!
We wanted to surprise our mom with a girls trip to Hocking Hills State Park. We decided on a cabin, after looking through many we came across this cabin. It was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. It was the perfect size for the 4 of us. The hot tub was wonderful. Our mom loved every minute of our trip and the downtime playing board games and cards. Very close to some of the trails to hike. Will definetely come back and book a cabin with Hocking Hills Chalets.

Exactly as advertised
This cabin was exactly as advertised. There were only two of us in addition to our 7 year old boxer and the cabin was perfect. 4 people would likely be the most you'd want here unless some are small children and don't mind some creative sleeping accommodations. The loft area is nice although we didn't use it but as it mentions in the description it has fairly steep ladder/steps so if thats not your thing keep that in mind. Overall I would recommend this cabin in particular as well as the chalets as far as a company goes. They make the process very easy and are right there to help if any issues arise.

Late Winter Getaway
We decided to take a late winter break from Columbus and head down to the Hocking area. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for a great stay. The fact that it was also pet friendly was a huge plus. The kitchen had what we needed to cook up a few great meals and our time spent relaxing was just what we needed.

Pleasant escape
The property was cute and peaceful. Not as private as some other places I've stayed as you could see other cabins from the property. This was not a big issue as everyone was respectful and stayed to themselves. The property was well managed with staff on-site, which offers increased security and safety. I'm assuming it has well water because there was a faint sulfur smell to the water, which is very common in this area, so would recommend bringing bottled water for drinking and cooking. The bed was fairly comfortable and the living room quite cozy. Overall, it was a delightful stay.
