Thanks for checking us out! We named our place the Lakeside Hideaway because its so wonderfully private - and because it’s on a lake! You could happily spend your whole vacation just gazing down at the water or sitting on the dock of our private cove, but there is so much more to do and enjoy that we are going to advise against it. The deck comes with a new 6-person hot tub nestled beneath a beautiful canopy of trees. From the deck, it’s a short walk down through the magnificent pines to our dock situated on our own little private cove. This is the perfect place to launch a kayak or cast a rod, or better yet to drink a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at sunset, surrounded by Lilly pads and the pristine waters of West Emerald Lake.
If you visit in the winter, our proximity to Camelback, Jack Frost and Big Boulder ski areas make the house the perfect winter retreat. We have a fireplace and the hot tub waiting for you after a day on the slopes, and a new big screen TV where you can stream your favorite channels or enjoy the high speed internet.
And last but not least, the property is magnificent in the fall, surrounded by gorgeous trees exploding with color. It’s the perfect leaf weekend destination in October and November. The house is surrounded by woods and is very private, sitting on more than 2 acres of land, with no houses close by on either side.
The layout of the house is perfect for one or more families, with two master bedrooms, ten beds total, and four full bathrooms. The living room has a vaulted ceiling and a fireplace, and is open to the kitchen. Not to be forgotten, a separate dining room, porch room, and a great basement fun area for kids of all ages - with ping pong, billiards, and foozball.
The house and property is proudly maintained - we know how important it is for the house to be thoroughly cleaned prior to every visit, and we know you’ll be satisfied with the conditions. For your convenience, we provide bath towels and bed linens.
The Long Pond area has something for everyone, with great hiking, skiing, biking, shopping, restaurants, and much more. We are part of the Emerald Lakes Association, which provides access to beach picnic areas on the lake, as well as an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. We highly recommend trips to Jim Thorpe or East Stroudsburg, nearby beautiful and unique small towns; or to the Kalahari Resort, America’s largest indoor water park, less than 15 minutes from the house.
