It was an awesome stay. They’re a great group of people and they made me feel right at home.

The room had a beautiful view of Plaza Espana. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I arrived early and understandably I had to wait but it was in a comfortable spot. The hotel in itself was lovely and safe for a solo female traveler; however this is where the pleasantries ended. I am a Black female traveler and I experienced micro aggressions from the male front desk staff! They were very brisk and rather rude during my time in Spain. From making snide remarks and unkind facial expressions when I requested directions, asked for clarifications, or simply seeking an adapter for my iPod they were not hospitable to say the least! I enjoyed Spain but the all male support staff really need training in cultural sensitivities and how to refrain from subtle and overt racism!

The hotel is all about music. There is music playing throughout the entire hotel at all times. As an added bonus, there is a theater in the lobby of the hotel.

Attention to details, very clean and tidy with nice ‘add-ons’ (chargers, game console joysticks, coffee beans, area tips, yoga mats, etc). Full kitchen too, ended up not using as I spent the entire trip museum hopping - which brings the next big plus: walking distance to Reina Sofia, El Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums, Reina Sofia being the closest, I walked to all 3 end enjoyed coffee stops or a beer or two along the way. The ‘hotel’ is 3 minutes away from El Roble, one of the breakfast places Bob W recommends. I did have dinner there and it was well worth it- recommended!
