HOUSE RULES:

It is our mission to ensure that our valued guests enjoy their stay with us! This is a permitted vacation rental with the City of LA Home Sharing Dept. We also have an equally as important commitment to our neighbors and our community. Below are the house rules that we must enforce. Please read them as well as all your guests prior to confirming your reservation.

This is a short-term rental property only. No Tenants rights apply. You must check-out on the date your contract finishes.

* Minimum age to book is 30 years old. Valid photo ID will be required, as well as names and ages of all your Guests.

* Check-in is after 4 PM. We greet all our Guests.

* Check out is at 11 AM

MAX NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS - 8 (includes infants and children under 2 yrs age)
The Property is to be occupied by no more than the maximum sleep number stated on reservation unless approved in writing by Management. If Guest exceeds the occupancy limit and falsifies occupancy information at the time of reservation, Guest shall be subject to eviction. "Occupants" includes small children, infants and any and all visitors. If more than the maximum number is found to be occupying the Property at any time, you agree that a charge of $200 per person/per day will be made to your credit card. Additionally, this Agreement may be immediately terminated without a refund of any amounts paid. No Exceptions.

NO SMOKING Smoking is allowed outside only. If any trace of smoke is found inside the home, there will be a strictly enforced $500 fine and the cost to eliminate residual odors.

PET FEE $150/pet. Dogs Only Max 2 dogs allowed. You must bring your own dog bed or dog crate. Dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds.

NO PARTIES OR EVENTS - due to the City of LA's strict ban of parties of large groups we need exact headcounts of your guests at all times. All outside visitors must be pre-approved.

A party is defined as any combination of the following; ANY loud noise and/or excessive drinking that is disruptive to neighboring houses and/or guests outnumbering the maximum amount permitted as defined above. A party will result in an immediate eviction from the property with no refund given under any circumstance. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by iTrip in writing prior to the arrival date.

NEIGHBOR COMPLAINTS
Actions by guests that result in neighbor complaints or police being called to the Property will result in a minimum $1000 charge, which charge will be used to deal with legal issues and fines.

NOISE ORDINANCE - QUIET HOURS: 10 pm – 8 am. No Outdoor Music or Loud Voices during this time.

* You will provide the Full Names and Ages of all your guests

* In the event of an emergency to perform necessary repairs and/or maintenance, we reserve the right to enter the property.

Beautiful Property, Great Location
This was a lovely home with gorgeous artwork nestled in the Hollywood Hills. The property has many little nooks and crannies to curl up and read and an expansive kitchen for communal cooking. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Gorgeous!
Such a beautiful and comfortable home. Spotlessly clean inside, with expertly maintained gardens outside. Just gorgeous! As mentioned by other reviewers (thank you!), there are a lot of stairs both inside and outside, but it was so worth it. I personally preferred having lots of steps to get to the front door rather than having to navigate a steep driveway. Yes the streets in the neighborhood narrow and winding, but again so worth it to stay in this unique house.

Amazing home!

Wonderful Experience!

Beautiful Home and Great Location!
The home was beautiful! We had plenty of space for the 5 of us, and enjoyed it so much we hardly left the property. Danny was easy to communicate with and check in was a breeze. We loved the wood burning fireplace. I would highly recommend this property for a group, it is a stunning home originally built in 1925 and upgraded beautifully!

Beautiful and quiet
We had a very nice stay, the house itself was beautiful and we had a lot of space to relax among really unique architecture. If you’re not used to driving on steep hills and narrow roads that really shouldn’t be 2-way, you might have some trouble here :) It was definitely beneficial to have a garage! But other than that, it was close enough to everything and we felt very safe staying here.

A wonderful oasis
The property is a beautifully remodeled 1920’s bohemian oasis in the Hollywood Hills, close to Capitol records, Hollywood Bowl and Universal Studios. My family and I spent a long weekend here. Each of us had privacy and rest as the bedrooms are spread out with their own bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped. We were able to relax and enjoy our time together and also get to local attractions in reasonable time. The property manager is very responsive and lovely. We would stay again and explore in the future.

Our best family getaway
Three generations of our family stayed here and loved it. Beautiful wood floors and doors throughout the house, comfortable furnishings, top-of-the-line appliances, several outdoor gathering spots around the house, and a management company that was very responsive to questions made this the perfect home away from home. My wife called it a house of luxury and comfort and impeccably maintained beautiful gardens. The younger generation was represented by a grandson who, a few minutes after arriving, told us "This is the best house I've ever been in."

Good family house
Eclectic 1920s Hollywood house. Beautiful gardens and sitting areas. Very good kitchen. Two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, the third is a bit of a hike up some stairs to a powder room/Bath. The host (Danny) was great. The house does have some persistent musty smells. Completely bizarre neighborhood with beautiful homes next to shacks. Thirty-five steps from the parking area to the front door....not for those with knee issues. we really enjoyed it.

Best Vacation Rental for Gourmet Cooking
I’ve stayed at many vacation rentals all over the world and I can honestly say Casa Escalera was the best appointed property I’ve ever stayed at. Plenty of supplies (as opposed to the place I stayed at earlier this month where the host left one roll of toilet paper for a 10-day stay) and the kitchen had anything a cook could want and amazing appliances. Everything in this home is high end and perfect for entertaining. We celebrated two family birthdays between Christmas and New Years Day - I can’t think of a better place to have enjoyed LA and those close to us. Lilly and Danny were perfect hosts - attentive, communicative and thoughtful from start to finish. Can’t wait to stay there again!

Lovely Home!
We really loved our stay at Casa Escalera! We stayed here with our 5 kids, and the home was large enough for all of us to have our own spaces The home was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, and our host was very helpful throughout our stay. The house is centrally located to all the local attractions, yet it is on a safe and quiet street and neighborhood. Above all, we loved the outdoor areas which felt like Mediterranean verandas and a private oasis away from the busy city. We had a wonderful breakfast outside every morning and would often sit outside in the evenings with a drink and a book. It felt so homey and cozy that we did not want to leave! Highly recommend fto anyone looking for a quaint and quiet getaway that is still close to all the LA tourist sites.

Truly fabulous house
I stayed with my family at Casa Escalera for four nights this past February, we were looking at a few universities in the area and showing 2 of my teenagers a little bit of life in the Hollywood/Los Angeles area. The house is in a great neighborhood, located very close to hiking trails, very peaceful. The outdoor gardens and numerous courtyards (and the hummingbirds) were hard to leave each morning to set out on tours . The house itself is full of charm and is meticulously maintained (and I'm a person who literally focuses on thread count and kitchen appliances not just location when choosing a vacation house). The kitchen in particular is amazing and has views for miles with doors opening to the courtyards. I shared many photos with our friends back in NYC and will absolutely return if we are heading back to the area.

Hollywood Hills Paradise
Decided to book this house over others because of the extra bed and tranquil garden setting. It was a great choice because the pictures of the listing don't do it justice. It's absolutely stunning, a beautiful house with so many features. It got to the point that as a group we found ourselves wanting to stay put more than explore LA. It comes with anything you would want: a chef's kitchen, BBQ area, outdoor patios, Sonos throughout and three very well equipped bathrooms. We even extended our stay because it was so comfortable. The host was responsive and the welcome gift was a nice touch. Can't say enough good things about this place and would highly recommend if you're in LA and want something close to everything. A luxurious experience.

Beyond my expectations
Everything was beyond my expectations and my (numerous) previous rental experiences. The house was better than the photos show, everything in top shape, high end and fully functional. Fully stoked and all amenities available to the renter, garage, all appliances and TVs, real fireplace, iPad controlled music throughout the house, etc…Lilly and her partner were waiting at the house to welcome us and give us a nice bottle of wine, a box of chocolates and popcorns ! If we had any questions, they would get back to us within minutes and had perfect knowledge of the house. In short, if I could give six stars instead of five, I would !

A week at Casa Escalera
Casa Escalera served as home base for our family for a week's worth of exploring LA's sights, attractions and beauty. Due to LA's traffic, location was a key care about for our stay and Casa Escalera was perfect for that. It was a short trip to the Hollywood sign, Griffith park and observatory, the Greek, Hollywood bowl, Hollywood blvd and Chinese Theater, Universal studios, Warner Brothers Studios, Paramount Studios, The Grove. The house itself is nestled in the Hollywood Hills in the same canyon as the Hollywood Sign. Houses in the neighborhood can be packed rather tightly together, but the extensive landscaping at the house provided isolation and a feeling of an exotic getaway. The kitchen appliances were top notch and the house was very well stocked with utensils, cookware, spices in the kitchen and toiletries in the bathrooms. They even had beach towels, a cooler and umbrella for a day at the beach. Our family really enjoyed our stay at the house and we would not hesitate to reserve it again or recommend it to others.
