Beautiful property on the water with plenty of toys to play with on the ocean.
The house was beautiful with lots of room for our 2 families. We hired a chef to cook dinners and it was perfect. The house is a 25 min drive out of town on a dirt road.

Perfect for a large group of friends with kids
10 adults, 7 kids under 4.5. Perfect setup and plenty of room for everyone. Patricia the property manager is amazingly helpful. We had all of our dinners catered by Martha and crew from La Dona restaurant. Food was delicious! Our entire group is ready to return!

Incredible Home
We absolutely loved everything about Heidi's home. The beach was gorgeous, and incredibly private. We had it virtually all to ourselves the entire trip. We had everything we needed, from bath/beach towels, snorkel gear, kayaks/paddle boards, kitchen supplies etc. Heidi also provides a very detailed welcome package, which has contacts for transportation, catered meals, massages, suggestions for the area etc. I would absolutely recommend Casa Alvarado for any large group!

Girls trip
We had a girls trip here and it was Magical! Once you get to the house you will not need to leave! The management was great at helping us plan our trip and the owner was very helpful with giving us a welcome packet with information about the area. The house is great for large groups and everyone had their own space. We rented Atvs to get around high recommend to see the area! The sunrises with a cup of coffee on the porch were gorgeous! We saw many whales from the house as well! We can’t wait to return!

Wonderful Holiday Stay
This was our second stay at Casa Alvarado and it was just as wonderful as the first. The location is beautiful and perfect with an amazing view and basically private beach with the best snorkeling! And we watched whales and mantas from the porch all week long! The owner Heidi is super responsive and accommodating, as well as Patricia the house manager. Everything we requested went off without a hitch including a decorated Christmas tree and a catered dinner on Christmas Eve. Wi-Fi was great for the teenagers as well as the adults who had to re-book flights home due to the weather mess in the US. If you’re looking for a quiet out of the way place for a large group this is the place!

Lovely House, Beautiful Beach
Our three generation family had a wonderful time at Casa Alvarado! The two casitas and four large bedrooms in the main house provided us with plenty of space so that we were together but not in each others’ space the whole week. The house is right on the beautiful beach where we snorkeled, swam and collected shells. Nice pool, hammock area and outdoor fire ring. The kitchen has everything you need. The owner Heidi has connections with a caterer, drivers and a sports fishing captain. all good people. The fisher people in our group caught two marlins, two dorados and a tuna on their afternoon on the captain’s boat- phenomenal. This is truly a well supplied getaway house near a small hotel and in a small neighborhood but far away from stores and bars and the scene in Cabo San Lucas. That was a plus for us.

Paradise for those looking for privacy and beauty
The property is advertised as paradise, and it is for those looking for a gorgeous view of the Sea of Cortez, a sand beach that you will have practically to yourself for swimming, kayaking and boogie boarding, a coral reef right in front of the house for snorkeling, and a large pool with a large covered deck and 10 lounge chairs. Our group of 20, ages 1 to 71, visited in July (90 degrees) and lived in the water. We had a marvelous time. That being said, the house is remote, a 2-hour shuttle ride from the airport, the last 30 minutes of it on a sand road. So unless you are renting a car and driving (not for the faint of heart), you have little access to shops, restaurants and nightlife. It all depends on what kind of a vacation you want. For us, it was paradise! The house is very clean, the kitchen well stocked with an ice machine, griddle, and instapot besides loads of pots and pans and dishes. The family room has two bookshelves filled with books and family games. We were provided a 5-gallon jug of water each day for drinking, though we purchased additional for our group. The property manager, Patricia, will shop at Costco and Walmart for all of your food and alcohol for a fee of about $120 US plus 10% of the food cost. I suggest paying her for the food in pesos because the exchange rate was not favorable. The guys went deep sea fishing and caught a marlin, which we grilled for three meals. Delicious! A memorable vacation.

Perfect wedding..perfect honeymoon. A slice of heaven! You will never want to leave..
Gosh, where to start. We had the good fortune of running across this listing many months ago when searching for the spot to say our 'I-do's'. The moment we started corresponding with one of the owners, Susan, it was an instant match made in heaven. Susan, and the rest of the Casa Alvarado family, are so warm and helpful. I think we have made friends for life in this experience, and can not express enough our gratitude for their generosity and sincere investment in our big day. People flew from Australia and all parts of the United States. Susan and her family made contact with our travelers prior to their arrival, advising them on how best to travel and sent us so much information that made the planning and coordination virtually seamless. The lovely family that manages the property had everything set up for us upon our arrival, we felt so welcome and could not have anticipated the beauty and jaw dropping location of this one of a kind property. The wedding went off without one issue, from the food, which was supplied by Carlos and his family, to the music, to the cake, gorgeous flowers, tables and chairs, beautiful settings and flatware, all provided by the Punta Pescadero Paradise hotel just down the beach. It was perfection. Such amazing energy at this house, I don't think there was one minute that wasn't being thoroughly enjoyed by all 23 people in attendance that day. It was truly the most beautiful wedding I have ever been to..and it was our wedding. Every day we enjoyed the morning sunrise and set right on the patio overlooking the Sea of Cortez, the view is indescribable. You truly have to see it and feel it in person to understand how magical it is. Dolphins, whales, pelicans and lots of other wildlife were a daily sighting. We snorkeled in the crystal clear water, paddle boarded, swam and kayaked as much as we could fit in. There was literally never a moment someone wasn't taking advantage of the kayaks and paddle board. We all walked the beautiful beach everyday, finding treasures and enjoying the coastline and views. The hotel, specifically Sandra and Isabelle, were also so instrumental in making the event and the week work as seamlessly as it did. Some of our family stayed at the hotel, and they raved about it's rooms and how quiet and comfortable it was. A wonderful group or people. We also rented quads directly from the hotel for two days, this was a big hit with everyone. Truly a slice of heaven on earth!

Amazing Property!
We were a group of twelve and I can say everyone thought this home was incredible from the moment we arrived and were welcomed by the house manager Patricia and her crew who helped unload the van to the moment she waived goodbye on our last morning. Patricia is top notch and made our visit so much better. She responds extremely quickly when you reach out and is happy to help with anything we needed. Martha's cooking was so delicious and she and her crew are so friendly. The snorkeling out front on that reef was wonderful. Lots of big fish. The resort was a fun little happy hour spot. We will most definitely be back.

Took our breath away!!!
This property is absolutely stunning. It feels like you're on a cruise ship when you're in the family/kitchen area because all you see is water. The views, stars, sunrises, and moon rises are breathtaking. There was plenty of space for 13 of us. This property is essentially a private resort; each bedroom with it's own bathroom, good size pool, and beach with hardly anyone around. Very quiet and remote. If you want a place to relax, then I highly recommend this property. Susan is the best property owner/manager that I have interacted with. Extremely helpful and engaging. It's very important to her that everyone has a great time. Carlos checks on you daily and Griselda is a fantastic cook!! There's a resort close by that makes great drinks and delicious food. We already told our oldest daughter to get married here. Let's see if we can convince her. WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK!!!

Magical Retreat on the Sea of Cortez
My family (2 children aged 10 and 12) and 2 friends stayed in Casa Alvarado for 7 days and I cannot say enough good things about it. We snorkeled in the the reef right in front of our beach and saw a veritable aquarium of fish every day. Parrot fish, balloonfish, stingrays and eels to just name a few. We spent every morning paddle boarding the turquoise waters in the beautiful Sea of Cortez. The location was perfect as we could easily walk to the hotel for drinks or a meal but the entire complex of Punta Pescadero is off the beaten path and is very safe and not overdeveloped like the area around Los Cabos. At this time of year, we saw at most 8 people on the beach at any given time. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation far from the crowds and lots of water activities and potential for adventure, this is the place. If you get a chance and are in whale shark season, we recommend the 2.5 hour drive to La Paz to snorkel with whale sharks. It was an amazing opportunity and our kids cannot stop talking about it! As for the house, you will want for nothing. There are endless bottles of purified water and all the utensils and appliances to satisfy any chef. Carlos, the caretaker, came by every day to check on the pool and our needs and he is a treasure (he will always appreciate a cup of coffee in the am so please offer him a cup). :) The owner, Susan, is the nicest person and gives out very thorough information. The pool house had a ton of floats and snorkel equipment as well as water shoes for every size. Honestly, the house far exceeded our expectations. The hardest part was saying goodbye but we are already thinking about coming out again for next year’s spring break.

Fantastic Family Vacation
We planned a family vacation for my husband and three of his siblings and their special others and were very happy with our stay. The house was wonderful, the views were amazing and the staff at the house were very helpful. We enjoyed breakfast and supper catered by Griselda and Ofelia every second day and their food was wonderful. The caretaker Carlos was very helpful and even brought us back some hot sauce when we mentioned we were having trouble finding a certain type. We snorkeled and saw beautiful fish and even a sea snake, and one day we saw some orcas off in the distance. We took walks on the beach and did some day trips in the area and just had the best time. One of the most amazing things about this house was the owner, Susan, and how helpful she was. She kept in touch prior to our stay and by the time we got there, I felt like we were staying with family. The only somewhat negative thing about the trip was the crazy bumpy road leading to the resort area. Definitely use Octavio Cato's transportation company. They were on time and gave us lots of information about the area as we drove. We can't wait to plan our next trip here.

Our 8 day family vacation for 12 in Baja Mexico
This is a wonderful location true to description. The kids loved the pool and we're easy to track their whereabouts. The layout of the home works well for large families. The kitchen amenities including ice machine was perfect for a large group. Sunrises followed by snorkeling, kayaking, & paddle boarding right in front was enjoyed almost daily followed by sunsets and family games The preparation emails by Susan answered all our questions and helped make us be ready to "be there". Carlos property manager was very attentive including aiding us in a rare power outage. Highly recommend a delicious cooked by Griselda meal brought in the first night and tortillas as needed. We would highly consider staying here again if returning to this area.

Truly Paradise
This property is ideal for anyone that wants to get away from the beaten track. They have all the amenities you could ask for and a view that is unparalleled. Carlos that takes care of the place comes by daily to check on you. The pool is in excellent shape and the property is big enough that even with 9 adults we always had enough space. They have every game you could think of for your night time activities and the fire pit is ideal. If you truly want to get away, you can't beat this property.

Absolutely a home away from home!
We four couples had a fabulous 10 day stay at Casa Alvarado. The location is perfect - in a cove for more protected snorkeling & enjoying the warm & clear ocean. We had breakfast & dinner prepared by the lovely sisters who have worked for years in the well appointed kitchen. Walking to the hotel for lunch/drinks is just a few short minutes away. We used the standup paddle boards, kayaks provided by Casa Alvarado. Carlos, who oversees the property, kept us in ice & drinking water our entire stay. Housekeeping services were much appreciated. Communications with owners is excellent!! Highly recommend this property :)

A restful time away with the family!
The views are amazing in this little piece of paradise. We had a large group and the house easily accommodated all of us. The snorkeling, pool & ocean time, ATV's and the proximity of the hotel for happy hours made this an ideal spot for a family get away! I will also comment that the owner made the trip coordination amazingly easy along with her team of locals that added to the experience! 5 stars!

Wonderful Beach Front house !
My family group of 11 loved this house. There are 6 bedrooms which are spread out so everyone had privacy. The location is perfect if you want to get away from it all and enjoy the pool and beach. Quiet secluded beach- great walking and shell gathering. The owner and house staff are friendly, helpful and wonderful to work with. It is not a place to go for restaurants or night life as town is a good 1/2 hour away on a bumpy road but with small children that is not what we were looking for. The children loved the pool and the beach which is sheltered and safe for swimming all the time. Snorkling and kayaking were great. I would highly recommend this house!

WE LOVE CASA ALVARADO!!!
This is our second time visiting Casa Alvarado and it never disappoints. This year we had 6 couples staying in the Main House and both Casita's. The layout is perfect for this many people. We had practically the entire beach to ourselves. Carlos came to the house every day and took care of all our needs. He arranged transportation when needed, brought ice, firewood, water and anything else we requested. Grizelda and Lucy brought in a Mexican spread of food on two occasions which is always a treat. The boys loved taking the ATV's to explore the desert and town of Los Barriles while the girls played in the ocean on the paddle boards and sipped margarita's by the pool overlooking the beautiful ocean. We had dinner on the patio at the Hotel down the beach our first night and danced all night to music requests with a fun DJ. Susan is absolutely amazing to work with and helped plan the perfect trip for our group. We highly recommend this place for your next sunny beach vacation getaway! Suzanne Barlow Feb. 10-17, 2018

Can't go past Casa Alvarado!
My friends and I arrived in late June and stepping through the front door just took our breath away. What an amazing view and location! Carlos greeted us on arrival and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay, regularly checking in with us and helping with whatever we needed. We spent our days snorkeling, playing ping pong, paddle boarding, kayaking and lazing around the beautiful house. Octavio drove us out to Cabo for a night which was a lot of fun! At night we were treated to delicious meals from Griselda as well as some of the surrounding restaurants, with the Taco Stand and Cielito Lindo being some of our favorites. Casa Alvarado is a great place to unwind and relax with a great group of friends or family and can't wait to come back one day!

50th Birthday Perfection
We just returned from a week at Casa Alvarado and wish we never left. The house exceeded all of our expectations. Leading up to our trip, Susan went above and beyond helping us plan everything. She provided the most gracious assistance I have ever received for a VRBO rental (and I've rented many). We arrived to a warm welcome from Carlos, the house caretaker -- a very sweet and helpful man who came by each morning to check what we needed -- ice, drinks, food, firewood for the firepit etc. The house provided plenty of room for all 10 of us adults to stretch out, find peace and relax. We each had our own bedroom/bath (very comfortable beds!) and spent a lot of time cooking and talking around the large concrete countertop in the kitchen and dancing. The beach was virtually empty so it felt like we had it to ourselves. We paddled the bay with the SUPs and kayaks and snorkeled the beautiful coral reef full of fish and even a moray eel. The day we arrived we experienced 100s of manta rays jumping and saw many whales over the course of the week. We ordered fresh cooked Mexican food from Griselda (who also cleans the house -- she brought us 2 excellent dinners), Lucy (yummy tomales & chile rellenos for lunch), Jill at Doughnation (tasty baked goods for breakfast and dessert) and Carlos fetched us some fresh locally caught red snapper that we bbq'd on the grill -- so much excellent food to be had without leaving the property! For a short getaway, some of us rented ATVs from the nearby hotel to drive the coastal dirt road to Los Barriles, a really fun town about 30min to the south (you can pay with credit card). The hotel (5 min walk from house along beach) also makes a killer margarita if you feel like "going out" for a drink at their bar. Casa Alvarado is nicely situated on the cliff to take advantage of the views and the path of the sun throughout the day providing plenty of places for shade and hanging out in the sun. The private, shaded palapa halfway down the steps to the beach was our favorite morning place to hangout and watch the sunrise. The house is remote (another reason why we love it) but no need to rent a car -- Susan hooks you up with the very reliable, Octavio. He and his drivers shuttled us from and to the airport in 1.5 hours, no sweat. All of our friends absolutely loved the house and said they would like to return some day. Hopefully soon!

Our family getaway for 15 people
Casa Alvarado is the most enchanting place I have ever visited. Tucked away amidst high cliffs on one side and a sweeping coastline on the other, it is a place where time stops and the days move slowly to the gentle rhythm of waves. We were greeted by the rising sun every morning, painting the sky with a collidasxope of reds, oranges and purples. Wales, stingrays and packs of dolphins seemed to serenade us daily. The house is spectacular and spacious with plenty of room for us to all gather together for quality time as well as retreat to peace and quiet. The main floor has wall to wall glass doors that open all the way out to a huge deck with stunning views of the ocean as far as the eyes can see. The ocean was warm and perfect for paddle boards, kayaking, snorkelling and boogie boarding. The only problem was trying to get the kids to come out of the water at night. Susan, the owner, is an outstanding lady who helped every step of the way. We had some of our meals catered and they were delicious authentic Mexican meals. Carlos the caretaker made every single one of our wishes come true. There is nothing Carlos can not do. We rented ATVs which we drove into town on a few occasions, we went chartered fishing and caught a large Mahi Mahi which we barbecued for dinner and we ended our days surrounding a fire and the most amazing light show of starts. There is a sense of richness that surrounds this magical place. I truly feel like we were privy to a secret place that makes everyone who visits come alive with wonder and a deep appreciation for life.
