Come to Luckau for peace and relaxation. In the heart of Hanoverian Wendland, surrounded by fields and forests, lies the wonderful property with variety of old fruit trees, garden, meadows and a small deciduous forest, along with it a pond and many enchanting places, which invite you to rest and relax, to listen to the chirping of birds and the quacking of frogs. Thousands of cranes often stop at the doorstep in spring and autumn. You can hear a pair of cranes nesting nearby and sometimes watch them too. You can see bats flying in the evenings. The property lies over 8 thousand square meter land area of the small village Luckau. In addition to an old barn from 1802, which was later built here as a residential house, the apartment is made of timber. Kitchen- with serving window- and a breakfast room, which can also be used as bedroom to sleep, are on the ground floor. Top floor is a large, open, comfortable room with bedroom on one side and living room on the other.
Pool facilities + railway stations: In Clenze, around 5 km away, there is a very beautiful swimming pool.
In Güstritz, also 5 km away, there are big ponds and small lakes, which are used by many for swimming.
In Lüchow and Salzwedel there are indoor pools.
The nearest railway stations are Schnega and Salzwedel, both approx. 14 km far. Hundertwasser railway station in Uelzen is about 40 km away.
There is a tree house hidden on the property at the forest edge – a cabin 3.5m high, without water and electricity, but the quacking of frogs at nights and chirping of birds in the mornings are heard very nearby. 2 mattresses are available; bring your own sleeping bags. You can rent the tree house only together with the apartment (per night 20 €).
Biking+ pets: Wendland is an ideal place for biking. There is an excellent network of biking trails with less traffic overall and no slopes. Wonderful landscapes, attractive places to see. Excellent maps with references to cultural and geographic features. And bikes are available for you. Apart from that there is a small collection of books and art volumes about Wendland and Altmark. The old city Hansestadt Salzwdel is easily reachable with bike, pyramid cake is wonderful there and anyone who loves old churches can get enough to see here. My secret tip is the small village church in Osterwohle, which was completed in 1621 and is almost unchanged since then. But even the small stone churches in Wendland are also worth seeing.
I assume that when you bring your pets along, it is trained to live in a house and kept well in appropriate conditions, i.e. for e.g. they don’t stay on the beds and upholstered furniture. 10 € per week for pets.
Owner: I live here in Wendland since 1974. Until 1988 I was a parish pastor in the eastern part of a district in Gartow municipality. As Gorleben was announced as a site for nuclear waste management plant since 1977, I belong to one of those people here, who have spoken against nuclear madness and have engaged themselves in protecting nature and the environment.
I am retired, but I still work as a supervisor, counsellor and pastoral psychologist. I enjoy living in the district of Lüchow-Dannenberg and love the people and surroundings.
