"This is a very unique property in that you check yourself in through a machine and locate your room by yourself. There is a communal dining area where you can prepare your own food. We had an issue with noise, being at the front of the hotel, and the manager who was present in the morning moved us and upgraded us to a remarkable room with a balcony! This is a beautiful property! It is very unique. The service was outstanding!"

"A lovely, well-equipped house in a stunning location with its own fabulous garden. Brilliant for our family group of 10. Lots to do locally. The gem museum, gem mine, Celtic settlement were great trips and the open-air swimming pool in Rhaunen was much enjoyed. We visited Herrstein twice! Klaus and Anna were really helpful hosts. We were on a 3 week vacation so we were hoping to do some washing. However the kitchen was very well set up with an abundance of coffee and tea. The bedrooms are a good size and comfortable. "This hotel was very close to heart of Trier. Good underground parking (extra payment), nice breakfast, nice big rooms. I think it was probably built in late 1990’s and is beginning to show signs of its age, although updating seems to be going on. "
