The hotel itself could use a refresh in that it’s a little tired, but the staff were great and the room was clean and comfortable. There was an issue with our first room (a bad smell) and they changed and upgraded the room without question. They were also happy to store our bicycles while we were there.

The guys at the front desk were quite friendly and helpful - even though we speak only English. The location is amazing as it is right in the waterfront. We would have liked more air conditioning. The breakfast was delicious, beautiful and had so many options.

We only stay one night but our stay was great! The hotel is walking distance to the city center. The staff was very helpful, the room has clean and it had a great view of lake Lugano.

We had a small problem at check in with the room but the gentleman on reception was really great and we changed room. His professional manner and advice regarding the room was very good. We had a good stay and would happily stay again. Loved having a balcony to look out over the lake. Stunning.

Terrible experience in paradise

There was a noisy construction site next to the hotel, wifi was not working and staff looked really unhappy and were unhelpful all the time. It took them 30 minutes, three different parking spaces to find a suitable spot.

Across the street from the promenade and lake which is great . Had to take taxi from/ to main train station which was very expensive . Our room booking said “ partial view “ but that was only if you turned head 90 degrees standing on tiny balcony , we mostly just saw another building .

Great property right in front of lake Lugano, in perfect condition. My room was large (strange for Europe, though easier to find in Switzerland), had lots of light and excellent views. The hotel is 10 minutes walking from the centre, and the area (Paradiso) is very nice as well. Breakfast was good though not exhuberant, which was fine with me and my family. Bathroom was luminous and spacious. Mattresses could be a bit better, but overall the experience was excellent.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a pretty standard hotel room, nothing very special (just a small balcony with a tiny partial view of the lake) but it was clean and well maintained, and had very good air conditioning, which was definitely needed in August. The common areas of the hotel (lobby, hallways) are also well maintained, but the decor is not very thoughtful or inspiring—quite bland hotel decor. The restaurant and bar areas are lovely, and the included breakfast buffet is excellent, with lots of options for all tastes. The location is right on the lake, a short walk from both Paradiso and Piazza Riforma (wonderful area for restaurants and shopping), and is also right across the street from the dock where you can take a ferry ride to Morcote, which should NOT be missed. We had a very nice stay here!

I liked the location & the staff. However, rest didn’t meet the standards needed for a 4 star experience. We had a junior suite and during the 2 night of our stay, we noticed some insects and bugs crawling around the wall. While the room was clean, it was strange to see this. The next day we notified the staff & I hope it has been resolved since. We paid a lot for our 2 night stay and didn’t expect this experience.

This was a good hotel in a built up area, right across the road from the lake. We booked a room on the side of the hotel with a partial view of the lake and after initially giving us the wrong room, they corrected it immediately. Our room was comfortable and quiet (with the windows closed) and had a small balcony where we sat and enjoyed a view of part of the lake. The bathroom was a standard hotel bathroom. The buffet breakfast was pretty good, not awesome, but there was a lot of choice and the coffee was excellent. The hotel was within comfortable walking distance of Lugano center and just 10 minutes from the funicular that goes to the top of San Salvatore (well worth it!), so thumbs up on location. In my view it was expensive for what it was. Our other hotels in Switzerland were all less expensive. But perhaps being on the lake in Lugano in August is just at a premium.
