Eaglet Cabin near the Shenandoah River

Eaglet cabin is a newly-built vacation rental cabin. It's near our Eagle's Nest, Tree Top and Oak Tree cabins and, like them, is near the river, sitting up high above the river with an area to walk down to the river's edge. It's part of an 18 acre "fish trap" location that was used by ancient American Indians hundreds of years ago.

Eaglet is a cozy cabin with a modern beautiful exterior and interior. Hardwood floors, stainless appliances, flat-screen TVs - everything is new, luxurious and waiting for your personal enjoyment. The pictures capture some of the beauty, modern design, nature and open spaces. Take a look at those and drink it all in!

In terms of size, Eaglet is meant for single families or two couples for a max of 4 guests. There is one bedroom and 2 twin size air mattresses, with one bathroom and a laundry room.

You're going to love your time here. As we work to enhance, expand and grow this property, we continue our mission to be your weekend river cabin of choice. Book now before your dates are gone!

A peaceful and quiet stay
A perfect sized cabin for the two of us, honestly it has more then enough room for 2 people. It had everything we needed for our stay except the food as mentioned in the description. The view was beautiful day and night, you can see the river down the hill and mountains on all sides. The sun rises beautifully through the windows in the morning as well. Even though there are other cabins around you are secluded in your own space. We even saw a bald eagle right outside the cabin take flight. The cabin was clean and we couldn't ask for much more. It was a super calm, easy and relaxing stay. Having the hot tub, table and a grill on the deck is perfect to relax outside and take in the peace and quiet. I just wish we could've afforded to stay for longer. I will definitely recommend it to family and friends and hopefully I can stay here again. It was well worth the drive.

Property was in great shape and we enjoyed our stay. Close enough that if needed something we could run into town, but far enough out to feel secluded. Already planning our next stay.

A great cabin!
Overall a wonderful stay. Cabin was the perfect size, it was clean and was well stocked with many kitchen utensils and towels and such. Hot tub worked perfect and was clean! Only issue we had was trying to get the key as we were supplied with the wrong code. A quick call to the property manager (who picked up on the first call at 10pm) got us in no issues. Overall a wonderful cabin! Would stay again.

Beautiful but dirty jacuzzi
The cabin itself was stunning and a great weekend stay. House manager was very responsive and helpful. Only issue was that the jacuzzi was pretty dirty - green water and brown residue floating. This was disappointing given a jacuzzi was the main reason for our weekend stay.

Quiet, everything worked, close enough to civilization to get groceries or a beer but far enough not hear anyone other than another cabin or two.

What a lovely little cabin/house near the river.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Check in was easy. Cabin is quite up to date as it was in 2020. They have everything you need. Don't bother bringing coffee filters as it seems all previous guests left plenty behind! LOL. At least as of October 2021. The cabin is well equipped with all kitchen utensils, pots, pans, dish detergent, auto dishwasher soap, hand soaps etc. Just bring upur food if you r cooking and your spices (although there is plenty of salt n pepper left behind. Plenty of towels. The hot tub is truly made for 2 and that's all the hubby and I needed for our anniversary get away. The only challenging thing is the bedroom is the loft and the bathroom is actually on the main floor. You must use the circular stairway to get to the loft bedroom. I have bad knees so it was only slightly challenging. But that didn't stop our fun. The views of the river and mountains are amazing from this cabin. It is at the higher point of the developed property so a walk down to the river is challenging. Again, I have bad knees but still did it. I bet this place is stunning in the snow. Please note. This is the mountains so in snowy weather, you certainly need AWD or 4 WD. We will definitely be back. Oh yes the water situation is as others stated. Bring your own ice and plenty of bottled/jugs of water as the well water does have a terrible odor. That would be the one thing I would change if I could. But it did not take away from our trip. Me, the hubby and the pup brought about 3 gallons of water which worked for all of our drinking, coffee making and toothbrushes needs. Can't wait to go back. Oh another thing, if you forget anything there is a WalmartCVS, and grocery stores within 10 miles or less so easy to pick anything you need.

Only works for 2 or less
The pull out sofa was really uncomfortable and difficult to open. It was unusable so our son had to sleep on the floor. The hot tub was only built for 2. The cabin sat in a hill and had mulch everywhere so I would not say that it was in the woods. It was uncomfortable for our dog to walk outside due to the mulch and stone everywhere.

Great cabin for a couple!
Such a great little cabin. It wasn’t as close to the river as we thought, but it did have a beautiful view thru the trees to the river. The spiral staircase was cool—but a little scary walking down it at night to use the restroom! We rented kayaks from Shenandoah River Outfitters and had a great time. Overall we would stay here again, but I think we would look to stay closer to the river (the road this cabin was on had a few cabins closer to the river that we would explore.)

Wonderful, clean, private cabin oasis!
We loved our stay in this lofted cabin. Clean, cozy, airy, and very private. There are neighbors up and down the hill, but the cabin is built in such a way that you can't see them from the hot tub or out of any of the windows. Everything in the cabin felt new, aside from the hot tub. We still enjoyed every part of our stay!

Lovely cozy cabin
We had a lovely time at Eaglet - the cabin is beautiful and cozy, the surroundings are pretty and quiet, the hot tub is great, and the kitchen is well stocked with essentials. There is definitely a strong sulfur smell to the water from the taps and the shower, but otherwise this is an ideal spot for a getaway for one or two people.

Romantic Getaway
Our stay at Eaglet cabin was wonderful! The cabin was extremely clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the fireplace was cozy, and the bed was very comfortable. The cabin is far enough out of town to feel remote but close enough to easily grab groceries or a nice meal. A great place to get away and relax.

Great Studio Cabin
The cabin was great, would have been tight for 4 people though. Some kitchen things missing (serving utensils, strainer, etc.) but overall still a fantastic cabin. It is really more of a studio than a one bedroom. View of the river from the hottub was great.

Great scenic getaway! But, bring bottled water
We really enjoyed a long weekend at this cabin managed through Shenandoah Rentals ("Shenrent"), who were very responsive to all our questions and needs during our stay! The cabin was clean, comfortable with a very fun layout, far enough away from other properties to be private, and we got a little view of the river to boot (if you want to be on the river, this company seems to have other cabins further down the hill too- fyi). Eating meals on the covered porch and sitting in the hot tub at night was just heaven - so relaxing! Our only suggestion is to bring bottled water as the manger recommends - we don't usually mind well water taste but the water here had a strong sulfur smell. Also, if you're looking for total seclusion you can hear a bit of road noise or local parties if you're outside, but we found it was usually downed out by the wind or the hot tub running. Enjoy! :)

Very lovely, but a studio, not a one-bedroom
This is really a beautiful place. Nice kitchen and bathroom, amazing view of the mountains and river. Fun/cozy cabin decor and nice location near Luray. But a few things did take away from our time there. I thought the "one bedroom" description meant there was a standalone bedroom, but it's an open loft, meaning my family member couldn't escape me while I was on virtual meetings all day during a work-from-home day. We also couldn't figure out how to do a lot of things--use the hot tub, use the gas grill, take out the trash--and it seemed like there was a manual that must have been missing or something (and to be fair, they told us to contact them with any issues and we didn't due to not really being up for interacting with people). The foldout couch was pretty brutal on my back and is probably better for a child. I also blew a tire on the road out and suspect it could have been from driving over a nail because of the construction of new cabins happening near this cabin, which also meant a decent amount of worker/bulldozer traffic. I would recommend this place to people, especially those wanting to kayak, canoe, fish, hike, or go to the caverns. But it wasn't a great experience for us, unfortunately.
