I gave 4 stars on cleanliness due to hallway floors being very dirty. No white socks remained. Communications were horrible due to phone being very static filled. Master bedroom lamp was broken. Exchanged it with one from another bedroom. TV remote controls need new batteries. Otherwise, very nice place.

Great for Youth Groups
This is a fantastic house for a youth or Scout group. I was there with my Girl Scout group and it was perfect for us. The bunk room is the bonus! All girls could stay in one room without any discussion about who gets what room. The game room also a bonus! I highly recommend and would definitely book again! P.S. It would not let me fill out "other" for who stayed so it says friends however it was my Girl Scout Travel Troop that stayed.

Walker Family Trip
We overall enjoyed our stay. It's very quiet and peaceful. Lots of things to do inside and out. Although, the floor was sticky when we got there, the pac man machine was broken, the DirectTV in the master bedroom wouldn't work, the internet was spotty.

Great house for families
There were only two of us but this house had so much space and could have fit both our families! Beds were comfortable and Game Room had everything - air hockey, ping pong, foosball, magnetic darts, and even a card table. Kitchen was also nice and there was lots of seating for dining and lounging. Drive to the town of Luray was only 15 min (of very scenic views). Takes awhile to get deep into Shenandoah Park but that’s the case unless you stay in the actual park. And it was a good central location for the other activities in the surrounding are. It was a great home base for the two of us but would especially recommend if you have a large group including kids!

Great Family Fun
We had a great time at Old Wagon Lodge. It was well stocked with everything we needed and the property manager was so nice and easy to communicate with. We had rain during our trip which was the perfect excuse to stay in all day and have a family gaming tournament in the game room. The game tables were perfect for our two boys age seven and ten. We also enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and grill. The house is in a nice location with a short drive to Luray Caverns and town. We also enjoyed a day of hiking in Shenandoah National Park. Thank you for a memorable family getaway!

Relaxing in Luray
We enjoyed our stay very much. The hot tub is very nice and seemed clean. The kids really enjoyed the game room, as did us adults at times. The fire pit is nice and big, and kept us warm outside in 20 degree weather. It snowed while we were there and the kids had fun sledding down the hill in the front yard. The house is very secluded and you literally cannot see any other houses nearby. The inside of the house had everything you needed to eat, entertain and sleep comfortably. Overall very enjoyable and would certainly go back again.

Nice, but...
Wasn't aware property was on a dirt road, luckily we had SUV. The house was larger than expected which was great. We didn't have time to use the hot tub or fire pit. Would appreciate being reimbursed for the wood! Beds were comfortable. Might want to consider large walk-in shower in master bath, or at least replace caulk, it looks nasty. But, overall i would recommend the property, wish we would have been there for a couple extra days.

Quiet area and close town
The home is located in a quiet area and close to town, about 15-30 minutes to most floating companies. The house itself leaves much to be desired. The best part about it is the game room and the AC definitely works as it was super cool. Upon arriving we noted the home had not been thoroughly cleaned. I reached out to the house manager with concerns and photos - couches filled with food & hair, under couches and beds were extremely dirty, master bedroom sheets appeared unwashed (stained & hair). We all kept shoes or slippers on because the floors were sticky and turned your feet black. - all that she responded with was that she had not cleaned the couches prior to our stay and no other response. The master bedroom bed needs replaced, as you sink to the middle. Kids loved the playset and game room. Us adults enjoyed the view from the front porch.

Quiet getaway
The house was back in a quiet, rural area. Just 4 of us, but lots of room for larger/multiple families. Game room was a hit. Hot tub cover needs replaced (heavy even for 2 people to move). Do read the house notebook. The chemical used in hot tub might bother some! Plan on preparing most of your meals at the house. The area has a few restaurants but seem to close on the early side. (we did find a pizza place with Karaoke one night). House rules ask you to drive your trash 15-20 minutes away to the collection center or pay $5 PER BAG! Luckily we only had 2 bags and it was worth the $10 not to waste that time going the opposite way on our departure. We chose this house for the hot tub, game room and proximity to the caverns and entrance to Shenandoah NP. Gave us the comforts of home after exploring, hiking during the day.

Quiet house in the woods
Spacious house in the woods. About 15 south of Luray. The house has lots of room for several families to stay. Each bedroom is conformable. The kitchen has up to date appliances. The front porch and back deck were really nice for socializing. A large game roo m (even has a working Ms. Pac Man). No cell service, but wifi works well. The property would look really interesting in the fall when the leaves change.

Fantastic retreat close to Shenandoah National Park
My friends and I (4 total people) stayed for two nights in the cabin. We climbed Old Rag and had a blast. The game room is fun regardless of age, we had a great time playing pool. The hot tub was a fantastic feature as well, however I will say the cleaning agents poured on the water made me cough, my friends enjoyed it a lot. I would definitely stay here again.

Anniversary Get A Way
Very quiet and peaceful. My husband and I loved the game room and hot tub was perfect to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee in the mornings. Great way to start the day. We had a wintery mix day and enjoyed the fireplace, very easy to turn on and off, that is all the heat you really need, it warms things up very nicely. The checkout time was 10 a.m. noted at the house but online it stated 11 a.m., we had made other plans and ended up having to leave a hour earlier than planned. More towels due to the hot tub would have been nice. Living room tv, need update instructions because it states no streaming and there is roku installed on that tv which streams. Shows would come in and out and biggest disappointment was having to watch the Super Bowl in the bedroom and game room because the living room tv requested a password and it wasn't listed anywhere. We wanted to enjoy the nice fire as the game was on. Would be great for a family get a way between the game room, hot tub, play area and the sleeping arrangements. Living room and dining area big enough for family as well.

Nice House Great Game Room
We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Wagon Lodge. Very clean, the pictures are accurate and all the aminates are nice. The game room has it all. It kept us all busy during the rainy part of our stay. Great hot tub and fire pit, everything you need. The only thing the house is lacking is a view. Drive 2 miles down the road and the views are spectacular. However it is super quiet, super private.

Amazing!
My family and I (4 adults + 3 children) spent a week at Old Wagon Lodge in August and had a wonderful time. There’s plenty of indoor and outdoor space and the quiet serenity of the Shenandoah Valley was exactly what we all needed to reset. It was my first visit to Shenandoah so we decided to take in Luray Caverns just 10 minutes away. The big kids and little kids took full advantage of the game room and hot tub. We would definitely stay here again!

Great place for the family. Really enjoyed the game room and hot tub.
We went for a short 2 night stay with the family and enjoyed ourselves. The game room was a hit for the whole family. The hot tub was also a great amenity. Large TV in the living room with ample seating. Streaming worked fine for us but they had a large DVD collection as well. We enjoyed local attractions like the Caverns, Jelly stone water park and the Luray zoo. Great place to stay with kids. A few small issues, there were wasps or hornets flying around the playground. I texted the number that had messaged me about check in and they said they were trying to get in touch with our property manager and suggested there might be bee spray in the kitchen. We just decided not to let the kids use the playground. The master bathroom shower was really small and dingy. I believe it was clean but it is in such bad shape that it appears dirty. There was a spot on the ceiling of the stairwell to the basement that looked like either blood or ketchup, hoping it was ketchup. The house also just had some odd smells to it, could probably benefit from some air fresheners. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the kids were very sad to leave.

The property was beautiful, however the cleanliness was not what it should have been.
We had a great time I do think that whoever owns this should do some checking in on cleaning staff you could tell floors haven't been mopped in a while (my little ones had black feet after just a few moments of running around). The rugs in the bathrooms also were dirty so I just washed them myself. I liked that it was close enough to Luray but still out of the way.

Highly Recommend Old Wagon Lodge
Our stay at Old Wagon Lodge was phenomenal! We came out from DC looking to get away from the city for the weekend and loved the isolation of the spot. It was an easy drive to grab groceries, go on a hike, or visit a brewery, but you can't even see any other houses from the property. It's an expansive house and our group spent time in each area, using it to the fullest (hanging around the fire in the backyard, playing the numerous games downstairs, reading on the front porch while it rained, etc.). We had a smaller group, but you could easily fit a whole horde of people in here and still not feel cramped.

The cabin has normal wear and tear of a rental property but pretty well stocked and TONS to do at the house. We especially enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub, and front porch. It was perfect for our group of 5 plus a dog. It is also nicely located with short drives to Luray, Sperryville, and Skyline Drive. We had one issue with the hot tub. I emailed management and they came out same day to resolve it. I wish they had replied to my message but was happy they resolve our concern in a timely fashion!

Very clean house with excellent play game room, hot tub and general facilities.
Very clean house overall with the only exception being the master shower.! Hot tub was also very clean and seems well maintained. Kitchen well supplied including spices for cooking. Game room offerings were wonderful for all ages and contained all the items you need to enjoy every game. Pool table, foosball, air hockey, ping pong and Ms Pacman game all in great shape. Outside play equipment should probably just be torn down as it is missing the swings and in pretty bad shape. The BBQ grill and big fire pit were in good condition with plenty of kindling in the nearby woods and a supply of firewood to make evenings lots of fun. Basement rooms are much colder than upstairs but there are plenty of blankets to compensate. Some of the houses close to where this rental is located are burned out or scary-trashy but none are within view so they did not effect out visit; just a reflection of the poverty of some of the folks in that area. Luray is super close and easy to access! No county trash pick up service and facility is not that close so be prepared to haul your trash some distance or pay $5 per bag. We would definitely recommend this rental home!
