"We booked Mary's wonderful house for a weekend away in December for a catch up with old friends (12 of us in total). We had an amazing time and really recommend the house. It has lots of character from being an old pub called The Star and the rooms were really comfy with almost all of them having their own ensuite bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious for cooking even for 12 people and we loved the fireplace and piano in the main living room. We didn't get out much due to storms...

We loved the wood burner and the Christmas decorations. The home is just off Harbour Street, which was just a treasure trove of little shops, wine bars and restaurants. My American friend who had never ventured out of London before said she felt like she was in the holiday!Thank you for the perfect weekend, we will definitley be back!"

If possible drive through deal to get there instead of the narrow road through Kingsdown. Host was super responsive and helpful! "

The other issue, not to do with the property was there was a warning on the beach not to go into the water because of poor water...

Swimming here was great as the shelf is quite steep so you get a good amount of time either side of high tide. The place itself is a pleasure to stay in and we can't wait to come again."

The bed was so comfy, and the addition of the electric heater in the bathroom was perfect; it made the hop over the to the toilet in the middle of the night bearable. The place was perfectly equipped for all of us and the kitchen/dining are was set up perfectly for everything we needed. "We had a very enjoyable stay. Our room was clean with comfy beds and a good shower. The breakfast was included in the stay. There was a variety of options including waffles, fruit, cereal and traditional cooked breakfast choices. The staff were helpful and friendly. Overall fantastic value. "

"This is the second time we have stayed but the first time we had breakfast the food was lovely only we would of preferred it if the tea and coffee were served to the table as we were backwards and forwards to the buffet I know this is a very small issue and slightly petty but it would of been nice staff fabulous will definitely stay again hotel spotless and we had a lovely big room we will return and use the spa thank you "
