Character Victorian Cottage Opposite Common Land within New Forest National Park

Charming homely centrally heated Victorian Cottage in the village of Pennington within the boundaries of the New Forest National park. The cottage is reportedly one of the oldest in the village it is situated opposite Pennington Common an area ideal for dog walking also with a new childrens play area.
The cottage consists of a hallway, a modern bathroom with toilet and rain shower over bath. There is a very modern kitchen recently refurbished. There is a dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer, microwave and is well stocked with crockery and utensils. There is seating for 4 around a circular dining table.
The kitchen is open plan leading into a tastefully decorated lounge thoughtfully modernised but still retaining a beautiful black cast iron fireplace in keeping with the age of the property. There is a freeview TV with Netflix and Sky and a CD player.
The lounge opens into a fully enclosed mature garden safe for your dog. Well stocked with plants and an ideal sun trap for Al fresco dining or relaxing on deck chairs provided.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms,1 double with small feature cast iron fireplace and 1 single. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage and hanging space for your clothes.
As with all cottages of this age the stairs are steep so particular care be taken with small children and anybody with mobility problems.
The village of Pennington is no more than a few minutes walk away and has two convenience stores one being Tescos. There is also a chemist, fish & chip shop and pub with food. Also within walking distance is an indoor swimmimg pool.
The attractive Georgian town of Lymington is 5 minutes drive or a 15 min walk away. There is a fantastic Saturday market which is spread down the length of the High Street. There are many individual shops, restaurants and cafes. There is a lovely cobbled street leading down to the picturesque harbour. In the summer there is a terrific outdoor sea water pool with large inflateable area with a section for paddle boarding as well as swimming. Looking to go further a field there is a regular ferry service to the Isle of White.
We have put a great deal of thought and consideration to make your stay a comfortable and a memorable experience.

Charming little cottage
We were very lucky with the weather which helps but we love the area as there is always something to do. The cottage was spotless and has all amenities (apart from washing machine no space ) and there was a very nice cake awaiting us as well as tea ,coffee and milk . Parking was fine on quiet street and the garden is a delight. The owner kindly reminded us about the steep stairs but we managed as we did with downstairs bathroom. Overall highly recommended for a relaxing stay in New Forest.

Excellent cottage
Loved the cottage, so quaint, clean, warm, cosy, it was beautiful. The stairs are a bit scary, but if you take your time and duck you are fine, part and parcel of the cottage. Only downside the 'village' not really there. A car ride to get anywhere, but it didn't spoil it at all. Was so sad to leave the cottage. Beautiful, just loved it. Thank you .

This is a beautiful & homely Victorian cottage. It's very comfortable and has a superb garden. We were suprised to find milk, juice & 6 cupcakes on arrival 😋. This was very welcome. Pennington is well placed near to Lymington but it takes 25 to 30mins walkto reach the quay

Lovely little cottage
We very much enjoyed our 3-night stay at the cottage. It was spotlessly clean inside with a well-equipped kitchen - handy as we like to cook in the evenings. Lovely garden too. Good location for visiting rivers, coast and New Forest.

Wonderful little cottage, very clean and comfortable. It has everything you would need for a break away. Superb to have a huge park opposite in which to walk the dogs. Mick the property manager even left us a cake for our arrival which was very much appreciated. Would recommend

Short break away for the family, while I was on a course
Such a cosy little cottage, had everything we need and was a perfect location for the conference I was attending. The area is stunning with lots of local dog walks as we took our Cockapoo with us. The beds were super comfy with beautiful, fresh smelling linen, as listed the stairs, are a little steep, but it adds to the quirkyNess To an old building. We would definitely book a short stay again. The host was very welcoming and had excellent communication.

A wonderful Christmas
James and I spent a wonderful Christmas time at the Sun Cottage. It has everything you can dream of: warm and elegant environment, nice garden, and quiet neighborhood. It is finely refurbished and equipped with the best appliances. The Cottage is in a fantastic location, by the New Forest and only a short stroll from the centre of the lovely Lymington. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Absolutely Brilliant
Just back from a lovely 3 night break with my husband and my dog. Property was lovely and clean, neat, tidy and had everything that we needed. Mick was great, as I only made the booking the day before, he was really helpful. The location was great for both the Forest and coast line. Would definitely go back. The only slight issue we had, was finding the property when we got there, as the adjoining property’s house number is visible, although the house name is on gate, it’s not very clear and could probably do with being replaced. Slightly disappointed on arrival, but more than happy once inside :-)

Brilliant holiday
This was the second time we have stayed at this cottage and yet again it doesn’t disappoint. It’s lovely and clean its certainly home from home. It’s ideally situated close to the New Forest, pubs and shops are on the doorstep. We found a pub called the cheques inn it’s about a 6 minute drive, dog friendly food and service is good. If we go to the New Forest again this cottage would be my first choice

Short Break at Sun Cottage
We have stayed at Sun Cottage twice now and it meets all our requirements. Spotlessly clean and located in a very pleasant area opposite the common. Lovely garden for sitting out in when the sum shines. Stairs steep but, although we are no longer young, we can manage them. Thank you, we had a very pleasant stay. Dee

Easter bank holiday weekend
We were lucky to find this cottage still available over the Easter bank holiday weekend so booked a 3 night stay for 3 adults. The description is accurate and Michael checked that I had received all the check in information via Vrbo. We were very lucky with the weather and went into the forest for lunch and to Milford on Sea to the beach. We walked down Priestlands Road, then lane onto the Bunny Run to get to the town centre. We didn't get to visit the Saturday market but drove through as it was ending and it still looked busy and varied. The garden was secure for the dogs and there was a little gate outside the front area which is shared with the neighbour. Lots of dog poo bins on the common opposite and around town. I would return but aim for a less busy weekend as pubs were fully booked and tourists attractions were very busy but this is a sign of how popular the area is.

Great half term experience
We stayed at this lovely cottage for the autumn half term with our five year old. The cottage is nicely furnished and ideal for a small family the stairs took a little getting used to but even the little one got the hang of it. There is a nice playground across the road she liked a lot. Shops are close if needed and a trip to Mileford is recommended (thank you for the tip Michael) there is lots to do and see around there and we had a great week. Thank you for having us.
