"First time at a ryokan, so I had no specific expectations. Traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast were excellent. Close to bus stop that’s only about 10 minutes from the train and bus stations. Shuttle service is also available. 10-15 walk from the Hida No Sato open-air museum, although it’s a fairly steep uphill walk."

"This was fantastic traditional lodging. Our rooms were spacious and the public bath was an incredibly special extra perk. We were our kimonos and yukatas to the bath. The dining for both dinner and breakfast require reservations and are well worth it. Our only negative experience was the front desk telling us that the restaurant we wanted to eat at did not require a reservation, but discovering upon arrival that reservations are obligatory. "
