We stayed at the Chippewa to celebrate my daughter's 21 st birthday! It was a lot of fun. We had 4 rooms and most of them were comfortable. The hot tub was awesome!
We were so extremely pleased with our room we would like to make it an annual trip and would love to have the same room! It was roomy, clean and great view!! It all said it was the best room we've ever had!!
We have stayed at different places on the island and we liked this the best. Rooms are comfy and location is great. If you want off the beaten path, not the place for you. There is street or boat noise but never too loud for us.
Loved everything about the hotel... until we tried to sleep!
We had a room facing the main street. Very noisy!
Poor soundproofing. We heard voices much of the night. From loud revelers when the bar closed to the men talking loudly at 3:00 am, while hosing off the street.
Would rate a 5 but for the noisy night and terrible night of sleep!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
the first room we were in was awful and they had no other vacancies but we did upgrade to a new available room the next night. It was quite a bit more expensive but lovely. the first room, 319 had a tilt where you couldn't even sleep in the beds comfortably. Very small.
The room was great and very clean. Love the Pink Pony store! I was on the island for 15 minutes and my first purchase was from the Pink Pony. It was a perfect vacation.
The location is great and the room we had was very bright and cheerful. The hotel staff and restaurant staff were great. Good food at the restaurant. Will stay here again the next time we get to the island.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Chippewa. I will tell everyone to stay there. All staff went over and beyond in service and answering all my questions easily. I love your decor and beautiful views...street side(which I was) and lake side, where I ate breakfast every morning. I only hope that I can visit again.....
The room was a bit small, but very cozy and luxurious. The bed was very soft and comfortable, the amenities were excellent. A great view of the fort and governor's mansion were out the window as was Main Street. It was conveniently located with a five star restaurant downstairs along with the world famous "Pink Pony Bar". The off-season rates were very affordable and quite reasonable. Much less expensive than other hotels on the island of similar standings. The staff everywhere were delightful and the "Pink Pony" was a "MUST HAVE A DRINK IN before you die." Plus a gift shop FULL of "Pink Pony" souvenirs for folks of all ages. The lobby is a great place to sit and relax while you're waiting for your room or the ferry, or taking a break from fudge shopping. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give the Chippewa Hotel a 100. Best place I've stayed in 40 years of vacations.
