Albany Hotel
1/5 Terrible
Poor experience
"Mattress was about 5cm thick and was as hard as wood me and my partner couldn’t actually sleep so we ended up leaving the hotel at 5:30am. The shower we didn’t even use because you’d have to stand like a pencil in the shower. The hot tap on the sink didn’t work. The carpets were all lifted, there was no latch to keep the window open and we were provided with an electric radiator but no fan considering the weather conditions. As we were leaving the member of staff who was supposed to be on reception was changed out of his smart clothes into casual shorts and t shirt and was sleeping on the sofa in the foyer just outside of reception so ended up just leaving the key on the reception desk during check out and weren’t even checked out properly. The whole experience was absolutely appalling. We paid over £200 for one night for an absolutely awful stay. We are gutted because everything else about our trip was great however we just could not sleep or be comfortable during our stay. We would actually like to request a refund because we cost you next to nothing for staying there considering we didn’t use facilities. The pebbles on the beach were comfier to sleep on which is what we actually ended up doing was sleeping on the beach in the day before our 3 hour journey home. My partner actually felt unsafe in the accommodation due to the conditions of the room and lack of welcoming from night staff who was on the phone to someone whilst taking our payment for our stay. "
