Our holiday home is the ideal starting point for a relaxing and active holiday on the Portuguese island of Madeira in the Atlantic. Enjoy your stay individually, away from the mass tourism, completely relaxed in our house. For a comfortable living in the cooler season provides a installed by a German company hot water floor heating. The house is located 300m above sea level with a breathtaking view of Madeira's original southern coastline! Are you looking for a holiday home that you have been dreaming about for a long time? You found it!
Completed in the summer of 2011 under German construction management and participation of a German craft company house is located in the district of Calheta. Here you have a wonderful panoramic view of the mountains, the sea and the sunset.
The house has a very generous terrace area and a total of 120 square meters of living space. It has been built at ground level and has 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 bedroom with bunk beds). Living room, dining room, bedrooms 1 and 2 have floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors with access to the terrace.
Bedroom 1, kitchen / living, dining room have sea views.
Bedroom 2 has an additional TV.
The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator with freezer, coffee maker, kettle, egg cooker, toaster.
The living room has a cozy sitting area with satellite TV (with international channels) music system with radio and CD player.
A sufficient and fast internet connection is of course available.
The house has a modern bathroom with walk-in shower, adjustable washbasin and disabled WC / toilet. Outside the house, a washing machine and a clothes dryer are available in a utility room. There is also a guest toilet available.
The large terrace offers a beautiful view of the sea and has a nice barbecue area as well as a cozy seating area and sunbeds.
It's a great place to relax with a glass of wine after a nice day of vacation.

The property, booking experience and the help from Carlos was great. The only comment was there is no hot tub which was listed. Huge terrace, brilliant view, everything to our expectation and some lovely sun sets.

Fabulous!
We stayed in this lovely house in late November 2022. It was extremely clean and had every kitchen appliance you could need. Tons of natural light, and we opened all the doors to get the cross breezes (since the weather was beautiful the whole time). The bathroom was very clean and the water pressure was good. The best pics we took were right off the terrace....views were awesome, no sunset was the same, and they were all incredible. Carlos, our caretaker was very friendly (he even helped my husband change a tire on our rental car), popped by to water the grass/plants (and let us know when he got there), & also came by the night before we left to say good-bye. There is a locking gate at the driveway, and the house was very secure. While we're used to barking dogs, the rooster(s) were another matter! While they weren't super bothersome (all part of the charm), they may startle you in the (VERY) early hours of the morning! The only problem a new guest may have is actually finding the house; your GPS will take you well past it, and when you turn around you have to look for the house number by the gate...the house roof is actually (almost) ground level to the street and blocked by the gate so, easy to miss (we weren't the only ones, a taxi came to take us to our excursion meeting place, and she passed it as well). We had a wonderful stay in this house and would highly recommend it!

I traveled with my daughter. We received all the instructions in advance, contact for the local man, who met us there, so the arrival was easy. As a gift, we even received a bottle of Madeira, a local honey cake and bananas - thank you very much. Kitchen is very well exuipped. Master bedroom has view, second bedroom doesnt. Just the pillows could be replaced, they are not comfortable ať all. Our stay was perfect, perhaps only one small thing disturbed our stay, and that was our neighbor's rooster He woke us up every day around 4:00 in the morning, sometimes earlier. But at least we soon set out to explore the island. Thank you for a wonderful holiday in your house.

Lovely house with fantastic views. Convenient for main ring road around island and also easy to get to mountains in central Madeira. Some noise from neighbouring dogs and cockerels, but overall quiet location. Good communication with Thomas, we had very small query re TV and he dealt with it immediately. Really enjoyed our stay.

Wir hatten eine herrliche Zeit in einer sehr schönen und gut gelegenen Unterkunft. Wir wurden herzlich,und sogar auf deutsch, begrüßt und uns wurde alles wichtige erklärt und gezeigt. Bei Problemen hätten wir uns direkt an Carlos wenden können. Die Ausstattung war super und wie beschrieben. Auch die Aussicht von den Terrassen war herrlich, sowohl auf das Meer als auch in die Berge. Von der Unterkunft konnte man in kurzer Zeit alles erreichen. Eine zu empfehlende Ferienwohnung die alles hat was man brauch. Leider war unsere Zeit dort zu kurz.

Sehr sauber, Gartenliegen (nur 3) etwas unbequem (da nicht verstellbar), Straße nicht stark befahren aber leider Baustellenlärm vom Nachbargrundstück bis 20:00 Uhr. "Fast"-Sonnenuntergangsblick (April), aber 700m entfernt ein Sunset-Ausblick mit Bänken. Nachteil der grossen Panoramafenster ohne Verschattungsmöglichkeit! könnte im Sommer die Hitze sein. Grosse Dusche, Schränke-Stauraum für 10 Wochen Urlaub, Küchenausstattung sehr reichhaltig allerdings keine (Grund)Lebensmittel wie Salz, Öl, Zucker etz. Einfahrt etwas eng, aber Auto kann auch auf der Straße geparkt werden. Hausbetreuer vor Ort freundlich und unaufdringlich (kam nur ein mal zum Rasen wässern). Im Ort nur ein kleiner Minimarkt, am besten schon vorher einkaufen. Sonst alles wie vom Hausanbieter beschrieben und bebildert.

Wunderbares Ferienhaus!
Das Ferienhaus in Arco da Calheta hat alles, was man sich wünschen kann und war perfekt für uns. Wir (3 Erwachsene und ein Teenager) haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt und hatten wundervolle Tage dort. Die Kommunikation mit Carlos, der uns vor Ort empfangen hat, war sehr herzlich. Er hat uns alles gezeigt, Tipps für die Umgebung gegeben und uns sogar zum nächstgelegenen Supermarkt begleitet, damit wir erste Einkäufe erledigen konnten. Die eingestellten Fotos geben alle Qualitäten der Unterkunft exakt wieder. Besonders haben wir die schöne Terrassen mit Blick über ein typisch madeirisches Kleinstädtchen und die Hügel hinunter zum Meer genossen. Das Haus ist ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt zum Erkunden des westlichen Teils der Insel, aber auch Funchal ist in weit weniger als einer Stunde zu erreichen. Absolute Empfehlung!

Sehr hoch glegenes Haus, weswegen auch ein wunderbarer Ausblick genossen werden kann. Kaum Einsicht von Nachbargebäuden und tolles Ambiente. Sehr sauber und problemlose Schlüsselübergabe. Wunderschönes Haus mit fantastischer Aussicht
Der Aufenthalt in diesem Haus war einfach wunderbar. Die Anreise und die Schlüsselübergabe war unkompliziert, das Haus selbst ist sehr geräumig, modern eingerichtet und hat alles, was man braucht, inkl. gut funktionierendem WLAN. Besonders die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Das ganze Haus war gut gereinigt. Und dann ist da natürlich die Aussicht von der riesigen Terrasse, die einfach nur atemberaubend ist, weil man kilometerweit aufs Meer schauen kann und abends den Sonnenuntergang bestaunt. Zur Lage: Arco de Calheta liegt gute 45 Minuten vom Flughafen entfernt, ist aber mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen und bietet einen perfekten Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in der Hochebene und für das Erkunden der Insel abseits von Funchal. Der Ort selbst ist quasi gar nicht touristisch, man fühlt sich aber auch nicht wie ein Eindringling. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in 5 Autominuten im Nachbarort. Ein Auto braucht man unbedingt, um sich hier zurechtzufinden (und eigentlich generell auf Madeira außerhalb von Funchal). Das Haus liegt auf knapp 350 Meter über dem Meer, das ist zu Fuß nicht mal eben zu bewältigen. Die Auffahrt zum Haus ist sehr steil und eng, hier sollte man sich im Umgang mit dem Auto sehr sicher fühlen, bevor man hinunter fährt. Alternativ kann man aber auch einfach oben an der Straße parken und die Einfahrt hinunterlaufen. Insgesamt geben wir der Unterkunft 10/10 Punkten, weil wirklich alles gepasst hat. Von der Kommunikation, über die Anreise bis zur Abreise. Wir würden gerne wiederkommen!

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus
Wir hatten eine sehr entspannte Woche in dem Ferienhaus im Bungalow-Stil. Der Kontakt mit dem Eigentümer Herr Höpfner und dessen Verwalter Carlos vor Ort war gut. Das Haus hat eine super Aussicht genau wie die Fotos zeigen. Es war sehr sauber und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Es ist alles sehr großzügig aufgeteilt was für 4 Personen sehr gut reicht. Es gibt dort Satelliten-Empfang mit allen dt. Programmen und einen großen Flachbild-TV. Wir können dieses Haus uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen!

Wunderschöne Unterkunft
Die Unterkunft von Familie Höpfner ist einfach wunderbar und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Die Schlüsselübergabe und Kommunikation mit Carlos (Hausverwalter) hat problemlos funktioniert. Er war immer erreichbar und hat sofort geholfen, zB hatten wir mehrmals Probleme das automatische Tor zu öffnen. Er kam und hat geholfen. Die Unterkunft hat einen einzigartigen Blick auf das Meer. Wir haben es sehr genossen, auch die Ruhe, da das Haus etwas höher liegt. Die Hühner haben wir zwar gehört, aber das hat uns nicht gestört. Im Gegenteil: für unsere Kinder war es eher interessant. Die Unterkunft war mehr als sauber und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Super ausgestattete Küche. Viel Platz zum Wohl fühlen! Toll war auch das Equipment für unsere Kinder. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Vielen Dank!
