Nice hotel. The room was pretty comfortable, beds were good, breakfast was also good.
My obly complaint was the powder room design, the tp holder should be free standing. Where its mounted practically overhangs the toilet bowl.
I enjoyed my stay at the Residence Inn. The kitchen was well stocked with what I needed and the room was comfortable. Overall the stay was nice. There were two issues: 1. The toilet didn't flush properly. The water filled up really high and I was concerned that it was going to overflow. The front desk staff offered two good solutions--move to another room or use a pludger. 2. The tissue metal dispenser was too close to the toilet and the toilet was too close to the wall. I banged my elbow several times on the dispenser's sharp edges. That was painful and very unpleasant. The employees were very friendly and professional. They really helped me have a pleasant stay.

Wouldn’t do it again!
Variety of shopping and eating around the hotel was great. The hotel itself was ok…just ran down. The reason for the poor score is, hotel staff came in and out of the room (not housekeeping) multiple times without communicating. We could not get a clear answer as to why they went in the first time. The second was to remove the C02 detector (first thing in the morning while we were in pajamas), then entered again in the afternoon while we were gone. This was all within 24 hours. I spoke with the assistant GM Nat. Who thought me being upset by this was funny. She told me they were doing routing maintenance and were not sure how many more times the would be in and out and they weren’t required to inform us. She also stated hotels weren’t required to let us know. Those are just the entries I knew about…being that it was just us 2 females traveling, we felt unsafe with random men letting themselves in and out of the room.

Okay, but tired
This is located with a dozen other name brand hotels, so we were surprised to find out how tired the decor was. Beat up walls in the elevator, groans when the elevator was working, tired furniture in the room. But, I'm happy the breakfast offerings were varied and they used washable plates. We just needed to crash for the night, but if I would to spend more time in town, or had a different purpose, I would choose another hotel.
Old, dark, needed updating. The furniture (desk chair and couch) needed a good cleaning. Bathroom so dark could not read contents of bottles (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel). Breakfast was about the same quality as other hotels offering breakfast.

The room was nice and spacious. The bathroom seemed pretty run down between the toilet & shower. I’m 5’8 and I had to duck to use the shower which is not typically normal.
The hotel staff was friendly but if you are on the bottom floor, you will be able to hear the people in the room above you breathe. Other than the constant footsteps and talking, the room was comfortable.

Madison east
Older hotel that has thin walls and floors. Area isn’t good around the hotel.
My family and I stayed at this property several times when it was a Marriott Residence Inn. However during our stay for Christmas and New Years, new owners came in, it became a Primestay, and things went downhill very fast.
We were told nothing would change and our reservations were safe but I saw other people being turned away since they had Marriott reservations. The next day the breakfast buffet - which had featured waffles, sausages, bacon and eggs - became cold food only due to some vague issue in the kitchen. A few days later the wifi stopped working along with the sole computer in the business center. And there was an abandoned car in the parking lot.
When I returned home I found they had charged $200 to my card for incidentals but even after a week had not rescinded the charge. I had to take it up with my credit card company because I couldn't find a phone number for the Primestay.
I never saw a good place go downhill so fast. Maybe the new owners will get their act together but I would avoid the place for the next few months.
