Malone House in Belfast is a prime example of what a historic country house should be in the modern day. This 19th century gem of Northern Irish architecture is no dusty museum, but is still regularly used as an events venue. A range of modern sculptures complement its 19th century landscaped gardens and the demesne is commonly used for walking and biking. A mansion steeped in history, Malone House is historically austere but still full of life.

Built in the 1820s, the house itself is an understated but imposing white mansion house and an excellent example of the late Georgian style. Malone House hosts weddings and conferences and has a marvellous tearoom, which proves popular with both visitors and the locals. The extensive Barnett Demesne, where Malone House is situated, is part of the Lagan Valley Park. The parkland is vibrant with a variety of flora and fauna, and is popular with both walkers and cyclists. Enjoy a gentle stroll at Malone House, through rolling woodland, alongside the trickling waters of the Lagan River. Just a short distance east of central Belfast, Malone House is easily accessible by car or bicycle from the Upper Malone Road or the A55.
