"This is a piece of heaven. My husband and I were traveling with our dogs and visiting the state and national parks. Our room was big and we had all we needed. The grounds were peaceful and I enjoyed walking the dogs here. The Thirsty Goat bar and the Candelaria restaurant were so good. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We were hopeful to check in early, but our room was not ready until 6pm. That was the only inconvenience. We can’t wait to stay here again!"

"This is a combination RV Park and small hotel. Our room was nicely decored in a southwestern style. The bathroom had a great waterfall shower. The grounds were well maintained (desert style). The owner was very friendly and accommodating. It's located on the main road, quite close to Big Bend National Park, in a quiet area beyond the more touristy parts of Terlingua. The check-in process is contactless and worked smoothly. "

"This is a beautiful facility in a beautiful location. Five stars except that it advertises that there is wifi in the rooms. We had no service. I emailed the address given via my phone but received no response whatever. This doesn't detract much from the otherwise great experience. But, for the price, the property should fulfill its advertised representations. It was disrespectful not to respond to my query at all."

"We had a really great time staying at this property. Although there are some quirks, it is fully explained on the listing and in the communications. We used to be RVers so we understand having to adjust to different situations. The only thing I would note is that if you have the room heater on, plus the water heater and then try to use the microwave, you might trip the breaker. The cabin is decorated really nice and the outside porches and firepit are great. It always takes a while to get used...

After some research, I chose Ten Bits because of its rustic, Western-themed property. "Alex was a phenomenal host. He responded promptly. His place is clean, remote, and beautiful. Sunrise, sunset, and midnight are beautiful in their own way! I have never seen the stars this clear. Geographically, it’s relatively close to Big Bend National park, which we hiked. The property requires a 15- 20 minute off road commute from the main road, but the path is suited for almost any vehicle. "We have stayed in the other Casita before, and this one is the same. It is as advertised. However, attention needs to be paid to a couple of electrical things that aren't to code. The light switch cover in the bath does not cover the box, and both the bath and the kitchen should be protected with GFCI outlets."
