"Our stay at Basoan was amazing. It was a nice central location from which to take day trips into Bilbao or around the region. The hosts were very helpful and generous. The room and surrounding area was very relaxing - just what we wanted after a week of traveling around. If we are ever in the area we will most definitely stay here again."

"For anybody thinking that this will be a 'charming' rustic experience - please reconsider! We were unable to stay here - the place was musty and dark with poor cooking facilities and a layout that didnt work for us - the terrace was unusable due to mosquitoes and we couldnt open windows to air it out for same reason. We are used to camping and would prefer a tent to this accommodation. At 200 Euros a night it is hardly BUDGET - and fell well below our expectations. We didnt even last 15 minutes...

"We loved the old school building renovated with an eye for detail and all modern comfort. The location is great, half an hour's walk from the beach. Lekeitio is a pleasant town. A wonderful base to get to know the Basque nature and culture. Anne and Kerman are very hospitable and were always available if necessary. We enjoyed our moments together...their stories and hospitality !!"

"We chose this as a mid spot to access San Sebatian and Bilbao which it was good for. Lots of space but there was no wifi which came as quite a surprise. You really need a car to get anything or go anywhere. The train is right there but very long rides. Lots of windows but had to have all the blinds shut for privacy. Kitchen was missing a few important things but host was quick to help."

He explained how to use everything in the house and even talked to the private chef we booked for a house dinner one night, which was really helpful. He was also very responsive when we had questions during the stay. The villa was the perfect place to celebrate our marriage and house our family for a few days. "Imposible dormir con los ruidos de la obra del piso de al lado por el dia y de la calle y del piso de arriba por la noche.la ventana del dormitorio daba a un callejón con andamios abandonados y derruidos. Demasiado caro para lo que es el piso."

"Unser Aufenthalt in der Wohnung und Umgebung war sehr schön. Wir haben die Natur und herrliche Atlantikluft sehr genossen. Es hat uns nur das kleine und sehr enge, offensichtlich noch nicht renovierte Bad, mit Sitzbadewanne als Dusche, in unserem "Wohlbefinden" beeinträchtigt. Allerdings war die Sicht auf den Hafen und den Atlantik einmalig schön. Es war insgesamt ein toller Aufenthalt."

"When we first arrived the reception was welcoming the pool was lovely and relaxing. The food was delicious and the wine very nice. The room was fabulous with spectacular views. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. If we are over that way again I know where I will be staying. I highly recommend it "

The owner, who seemed like a really lovely guy , has not responded to any requests for a partial discount - not happy - Do not recommend!"
