"The stay was pleasant but we were unlucky as room 10 is noisy as it was above the door to the swimming pool which shut with a large thud - so an afternoon nap was not possible. The rest of the stay was excellent with dinner being a highlight with the fabulous Clement who is the absolute the best in the world for cooking a Crêpes Suzette in front of the table - very very special and we’ve had many around the world!!!! "We only stayed for one night at this gorgeous hotel. It’s a stunning building which has obviously had a lot of money, time and effort put into it. The surrounding area is quiet and rural. Our room was compact but beautifully decorated in a traditional french style. We ate in the hotel on the evening, the service and food were lovely. Unfortunately due to an early start we were unable to have breakfast. "

"We arrived to discover the hotel was locked. We phoned using the number provided by hotels.com and a receptionist answered to say she would be with us in 10 minutes. Sure enough, she turned up but only to explain that the hotel was closed - if we really wanted to, we could have a room for the night but no dinner or breakfast could be provided. Great stay, great location, great staff.

"Excellent location in Laon. Husband and wife staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. We'd hoped to dine on site for our evening meal. Their restaurant was closed and they found us an alternative restaurant and made a dinner reservation for us. I was recovering from a cold and the owner prepared me a hot lemon honey and ginger drink to have before I went to bed. Even made me one the following morning. To some the hotel may feel dated, but out group of 8 loved the sense of history the hotel had. The building has heritage status and should I ever find myself back in Laon, I would definitely stay here again. "

"A very convenient place to stay on the way back to the Channel Tunnel. The rooms are comfortable with an ingenious bathroom “pod” similar to what you may find in Ferry cabin or Campervan. On street parking, in BLUE parking bays (Parking Bleu) from 18:00 is free until 09:00 and between 12:30 & 14:00. One and a half hours free parking is also allowed if you purchase a “Parking Disque” from the Bookshop close by. Secure Parking IS an available on request but I understand there are very few spaces, I think 3(?). Breakfast has a nice selection including boil it yourself eggs! The number 4 bus will take you from the station to the City on the hill or it is approximately 5 minutes by car. The Cathedral and Medieval streets are interesting with a LOT of history and there are nice places to eat, including the hotel opposite the Cathedral."
