This was my very 1st time to stay at a buffalo farm and in a treehouse type experience. He was the nicest host! We got to tour the farm and feed the buffalo. I got to hug and pet the softest emu ever. We saw deer, buffalo, water buffalo, emu's, a peacock, and plenty of other animals. I learned that the monkey sound in the woods was in fact a peacock! I cant wait to catfish in his stocked pond with him when we come back. The cabin was nice and comfy with a great view of the forest behind. You feel like you are alone out in the middle of nowhere and that's exactly what I was looking for. You are only a 25 minute drive from the National Buffalo River drop in at Tyler Bend Park. We brought our own kayaks and did the 5 mile paddle with our pup. It was beautiful and I definitely recommend it. We used Buffalo River Outfitters. They moved our car to our pullout spot. Everything was still in my car and was in order. We will definitely come back! We had a blast.

Great for a quiet and private getaway.
We stayed for two nights, with myself, my wife, and two teenage boys. The cabin was a short drive from town, just far enough away that the glow of the city lights can be seen on the horizon at night, but not so far that it was a hassle. The cabin was back off of the road, nestled into the wood line, so you have a great sense of privacy. The craftsmanship of the cabin showed that they really cared about your experience. We got a tour of the farm, and got to feed the buffalo, water buffalo, and pet an emu. The host was very polite, more than happy to show us around his farm, answered all of our questions, and seemed genuinely concerned that we had everything we needed. This is one of our favorite places we've stayed. We are already talking about the next trip, and hoping we can get another chance to stay here. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice getaway, and a chance to unplug and relax.

So much fun!!!
Absolutely loved this cabin and our stay at the Ratchford Farm. The treehouse deck was a perfect spot to just relax and enjoy nature. Some of the furnture was a bit dated/worn, but it did not detract from the overall stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the buffalo farm and getting to feed and pet the buffalo and emus. I downgraded on the accuracy of the listing as it states the cabin sleeps 12, and it clearly does not. We pointed this out to the property manager and he was going to address this issue with VRBO Overall, we had a lot of fun, the accomodations and location was perfect!!

Had an amazing weekend in a quiet rustic cabin. The host went above and beyond and gave us a tour of his farm. Kids got to pet Emu, Bison, and water Buffalo. Got to see one day old Bison calves. Had a bonfire, and just enjoyed time together. Close to town and Buffalo river. Will definitely stay again!

The perfect cabin!
The pictures don't do this place justice! Open wide skies and a quiet country setting. If you're looking to get away from the noise and enjoy the best AUTHENTIC cabin, I highly recommend here! Your Host will ensure you have the best time with plenty of communication and hospitality! The Buffalo farm is such a fun experience for everyone, from toddlers to Adults! The back deck is perfectly balanced with shade and a Jacuzzi and the table and chairs underneath a canopy of trees are high enough that not a single mosquito bugged us. It was a rejuvenating experience and we can't wait to come back!!

Perfect Getaway
My aunt and I stayed in this little cabin, and we absolutely loved it! It’s pet friendly, and we had our two little dogs with us. The cabin is cozy and is nestled down in some trees with lots of privacy. Somewhat of a remote area but at the same time we felt very safe. The deck off of the back of the cabin was absolutely perfect! We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching some local wildlife, while we were able to let the dogs run off leash. The deck is well-made, sturdy, and safe, for small pets, and even children. There are several access is to the Buffalo River within a short distance, which we also took advantage of. LC is a gracious host, he stopped by shortly after we arrived and assured us, if we needed anything at all, he was one quick text message away. If you are considering this cabin, know that you can book with confidence. It was definitely a five-star experience.

Fantastic!
Kids and I drove down for a quick stay in AR to float the Buffalo river. This cabin was the perfect place, secluded but still close to a grocery store, clean, and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. And if interested the owner has a Buffalo farm and gives tours. We loved feeding and petting the animals. Just a really great stay. We’ll be back if in the area again.

Family Canoe Trip
My family was at the cabin for 5 days. Never came across anything that wasn’t available to us. They have thought of everything! it was nice to unwind at the end of the day, by sitting on the deck. The cabin is surrounded by woods. We loved hearing all of the birds and wildlife. Town was just a few minutes away, and the Buffalo River, only a few minutes more Mr. Ratchford gave my family a tour of his buffalo farm. He really went out of his way to let the kids be involved. When I asked what the favorite part was of our trip, my grandkids said it was a Buffalo Farm! We had a great stay, and will definitely be back!

Best stay ever!!
Finding the cabin and check in were effortless. Grocery store and Dollar General are less than 10 min away in case you forgot something. Everything in and outside the cabin was clean and beautiful! The cedar wood smelled so good! Beds and sheets were soft and comfortable. The kitchen had everything I needed to make my family's favorite meals. Gas range!! Hanging out on the deck extension into the trees was so relaxing. Love the little hot tub - I need one at my house. LC stopped by to make sure we were settling in well. He made us feel like VIPs. The tour of his farm was the highlight of our trip. We float the Buffalo every spring break. This cabin is where we will stay from now on, but next time we will stay longer.

Your great escape awaits
The pictures don't do this place justice. It is in a nice little remote area with easy access to groceries and restaurants. Oh, and it's on a working Buffalo Farm! The check in was easy and communication with the host was always prompt and clear. The cabin was clean and smelled great. You feel right at home. The owner came by and asked if our 4yo wanted to go feed some animals and her excitement went to 11. We didn't get to enjoy the hot tub on the private deck on this trip, but will be sure to on our return. We hand fed some baby cows and an emu. We got to feed some fish, but the highlight was feeding the giant Buffalo. They are very tame and easy to feed. It was an experience I know we will never forget as a family. If you want a quite retreat with a very friendly and accommodating host than this cabin nestled in the Ozarks is where you need to go. If you plan on going to Buffalo National River, this is the place to stay for sure. I look forward to returning again and again.

Hard to describe how amazing this place was! The cabin was incredible, the location tranquil and beautiful, and the amenities just as described. But the best part was the host- we truly have a new friend in Marshall, AR. His hospitality was unmatched by anyone we’ve encountered. A salt-of-the earth kind of guy that we truly enjoyed getting to know. We could have talked for hours. He graciously gave us a tour of his farm and brought us into the history of what makes Ratchford Farms special. This was a stay that will live fondly in our memories forever. Thank you L.C.!

Amazing Experience
What started out as a sister's getaway, Christmas shopping weekend turned into an amazing experience. The cabin was perfect for our needs. It was located halfway between the two areas we were interested in. The 'amazing' part was the tour of the Bufffalo farm. We saw an alpaca, hugged an emu, bottle fed a three/four hundred pound calf, fed goats, petted cows and the most amazing part was the buffalo. We got to pet them and feed them treats. The biggest bull was amazing as he ate treats straight from my fingers. A very unique experience and can't wait to go back.

Our First Cabin Getaway
We rented this cabin for a last-minute holiday vacation. There were 7 of us. We had a blast! The beds were smaller than we expected, but they were comfortable. The hide-a-bed wouldn't cooperate, but the mattress worked fine on the floor. The cabin was clean and was stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The washer and dryer was a big plus. I highly recommend the farm tour. Feeding the buffalo was an unbelievable experience! We had a great time! The owner was very nice and even found some dry wood for us to enjoy the fire pit on a chilly afternoon. Overall, we had no complaints and some exciting memories were made for us and our kids.
