Beautifully stylish and unique rooms from the converted caves of Matera. Every detail has been thought of and taken care of. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Our room in a cave was unique and beautiful. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We did a private wine tasting which included wines made at their winery and a lot of good local history; their sister restaurant also was great for dinner. The location is perfect, easily walkable to the entirety of Matera.

We loved our stay in Matera and so glad I chose II Palazotto as our home for 2 nights. The room was amazing, was a wonderful experience sleeping in a cave! Beautifully designed and had everything you needed. Breakfast was great and met some other lovely guests during our stay. Staff were friendly and the wine was very good. Enjoyed a dinner at their restaurant which is situated at the other side of town. There is only a few steps up to the accomodation from the street. We travelled to Matera by car and left it at car park about 6km away and they have a shuttle service that drops and picks you up from the door which was super easy and convenient. Would highly recommend a stay here and especially a visit to Matera it was a WOW for us!

Excellent property and location. The experience of the cave room was different and fun. The hotel coordinated with a parking garage our car and even used it in the middle of our stay drive to Gravina and Albarobello. Matera is beautiful and has great restaurants (we recommend Austin in front of Agustine church).

Great location . We stayed in the family room / cave which was great for three of us … a short stroll to breakfast and right in the heart of Matera . The glass of wine on arrival was wonderful ( we ended up buying bottles to take with us ). The walk into the canyon / over the swing bridge and up the other side was steep but worth the view .
